Week two update:
It's my birthday tomorrow. We're taking my son to his first concert "Green Day". I've hinted to my husband that I'd love a low carb cheesecake. But I know I should wait until after my induction is totally over. I started with the whipped cream on jello and I can see how addicting that can be. So I want the kids to eat it up and then I'll avoid it for awhile until I have this more under control.

I keep wanting to weigh myself... old habits. I had major scale issues in high school. So I borrowed a friends scale that's not working right, which is to my benefit. So I haven't been able to see my weight since last Tuesday. What a blessing.

Thanks for all the encouragement and advice.
I'll let you know on Tuesday what the scale has to say.

Happy Birthday to you also.

I've been dying to weigh myself, but luck has it that my scale is not cooperating. I'm sure that's a good thing. I've done good. I haven't cheated on purpose. One night at someone's house for a barbeque I found out after I ate the steak that it was marinated in something sweet. Darn it. No biggie.

I've gone out to each for lunch twice this week. Mexican both times. Once I had a chicken salad with guac, cheese and a spicy ranch. Better than the alternatives. The other time I ordered the pork meat and they substituted the rice the beans for a side salad with cheese and ranch dressing. So I'm happy that I was out there and didn't go crazy. I never even wanted to grab a chip, surprising.

Well when I get the scale working again I'll let you know my latest number.

Sounds like you are making good choices, Kym Sue. Keep it up and enjoy the LC birthday cheesecake when you finally do have it.

Sounds like you are doing really well! It is great when you really stop craving those foods, isn't it? Keep up the good work!

Darn birthdays. Everyone feels like they need to feed you. Soo today my co-workers took us out for a birthday lunch. It was put on me to pick the restaurant. I picked TGIF. I know they have an Atkins menu, so I thought it would be a nice alternative. I ordered the Chicken Verde. I split in half and didn't eat the toritillas. I got an appetizer and dessert. I ordered the cheese dip and asked them to substitute dippin veggies for the chips (they did). That was really good even better then the chips. Then I had the Atkins Cheesecake (my husband didn't make cheesecake for my birthday, so I felt intitled). OOHHH my goodness that was good. I took it back to the office and enjoyed it a little later. It's a good thing because I would have embarrased myself. I think I enjoyed it a little too much. So even though I feel like I've been soooo naughty, I think it'll be fine.

Scale isn't cooperating. Like they say things happen for a reason. I did put on some work slacks that I didn't think fit me, and guess what, they do. Yeah.

Happy Birthday Kym!! Glad to hear that you were able to have a great L/C time with the co-workers (I'll have to give that TGIF a try). And what a pleasant birthday treat to fit into the pants!!:great:
