For the last couple of months, I've been a bit casual with
LCE maintenance. My "new" maintenance level seems to be about five pounds more than it was in June. How did that happen??
In
DANDR, I note this warning from Dr. A (p. 253): "My experience has been that dieters who regain weight on the Maintenance diet are the ones who, when they put on some poundage, simply return to their maintenance level of carbohydrate consumption, instead of to the
Induction level....For consistent success, you simply must interpose the strict
Induction diet between your weight gain and the eventual return to the
Maintenance diet." He adds that even adding weight in small increments will add up over time, until you reach a level that is truly discouraging.
I know that I
must take this to heart! My personal CCLM (maintenance) is not all that high: 35-50 net carbs. So there's not all that much to eliminate. But cut back I must--and be accountable, too, in my diary. Fortunately,
LCE gives me confidence that I can put things right soon, with no great sense of deprivation. The important thing is DO IT NOW.
I'll let you know how it goes.
