| I might be going to a new Mexican restaurant this week. Any advice on what I can have? I am not too familiar with Mexican food.

| Mexican resteraunts have been one of my biggest challenges. I would like to hear what other people do, as they might have better strategies than I have, but... At many Mexican resteraunts if you order steak fajitas (chicken is usually an option as well), they will bring out grilled meat. The tortiallas will come out separetly. You could ask them to hold the tortillas as well. I would say order that and a salad. Please keep in mind that this is how they serve the food in southern California. If you are in the UK, ask to make sure everything is the same. HTH

| Mexican resturants can be a WONDERFUL place to eat if you know what you are doing - and total HADES if you don't. I usually do one of the following: Order a taco salad - hold the beans and Queso (ask for shredded cheese). Then eat it. usually it's meat, lettuce, cheese, tomator, etc. The bowl is pretty to look at but resist the urge to eat it! Order Fajitas - combo - chicken/steak and all the fixins...hold the rice/beans and tortilla's - can I have some extra bell peppers? Thank you very much! *grin* Good luck! Dee |

| Mmmmm, it sounds lovely! I am wondering if there is any way I might be able to maybe make some of my own toritillas, maybe from flax, and take them with me?

| Another thing I usually get at a mexican restaurant is a grilled chicken breast usually covered with grilled mushrooms, onions and peppers, then topped with cheese... then I ask them to hold the rice and beans and ask for a dinner salad... If you have lc tortillas at home, I am sure if you bring them with you they would warm them up for you... If I am feeling like I can afford it I will count out 10-15 chips (counts varry, but I figure it is usually 1 carb per chip.) and have some with some salsa c

| I like the chicken taco salad since I cant stand green peppers but if you like them the fajitas are a good option as well. Some resturants will not let you bring in food from the outside because of health code reasons. But you can alway sneak them in and a lot of places let it slide.
