I did well yesterday,day #1 of induction.
totals were well below induction levels on calories and carbs, but I was being super cautious. I was down 1.5 lb this morning...what a surprise! WOOHOO!!!
I've already entered the rest of today as well into fitday, and it is something like 1279 calories, and 21 carbs. Pro and fat are right where they need to be as well. Thank heavens for fitday! It's truly amazing what tracking and the right frame of mind can do!
Onward and ummmm...downward!

day 2 went well. I did Fitday for yesterday and today. Yesterday was high on calories - cause I was using cheese (cheddar) snacks to get me through. today, I haven't done that, and I'm doing fine. Much better than expected. 64 oz of water, couple cups of cold green tea, on my second big cup of hot green tea.

Hey everyone. I'm a day late. I'm starting 1/3/06, REinducting and fresh starting because we had 1/2/06 off work and my friends and I just carried the party on. yep, alcohol, carbs galore, sleep deprivation. I feel completely wiped out, and am pretty sure I have a sinus or upper resp infection possibly including an ear infection. SO, I'm starting tomorrow. I have not been doing the water drinking, so I feel all dehydrated on top of it all! blek!
I gotta do this just to feel decent again!

Hey HeatherRene, me too. I'll jump in a little late too. Tomorrow is my official start - had to get through the Bowl game parties tonight, so a clean fresh start tomorrow. I have a huge bowl of salad all ready, along with plenty of veggies all cut up. I will start my day tomorrow with eggs or Maggie's cereal. I have felt so sluggish lately, its time to recommit.

Thanks for starting this MaryKay to keep us on track!

Yesterday went fine except that I skipped dinner. I can't be doing that and I know it.

Today was 2 eggs and 2 slices of turkey bacon for breakfast. I'm working on green tea and water now. I have veggies cut up in the fridge for snacking later and low carb chili for lunch. Dinner will hopefully be a chicken breast that is marinating at home and some veggies.

day 2 was good. better than day 1.
I started using fitday again, and my downfall is the cheese. I like it on my eggs in the morning, but I also like cut up cheese during the day for snacking. Too much. There are so many calories in that stuff!!!
I think I may at least get the lowfat shredded cheese. Less calories, but still the same in carbs. I'm doing well on carbs, but have problems keeping the calories in check.
I just had a salad (cucumber) for dinner last night, and didn't have cravings during the evening. When I eat a normal dinner (meat) I seem to have a problem with cravings. Maybe I'll try the light dinner for awhile, and have a good meal at lunch.

I am in too, today is my first day....

I made some mini quiche's over the weekend for breakfast (spinach bacon cheese and egg and cream.... had two, they were great)
lunch will be a chef salad with swiss cheese, ham, egg, lettuce, tomato, cukes, and artichoke hearts...I also made cole slaw over the weekend and brought some to go with lunch or as a snack.

dinner will probably be some chicken, coleslaw (home made) and some cauliflower

I am going to try to cut coffee to two cups a day, then go to tea with lemon.

also started taking ACV again.

back in the gym routine, and going to be walking a couple days a week during lunch.
so I am so ready...

Today is going well. Quiche for bfast, 2 hb patties w/ cheese and bacon, small side salad (from Wendy's) for lunch, and probably Chili's for dinner (got a gift card!) I'm motivated, but I'm also VERY impatient. I'm hoping this will spur me to get busier with the exercise. In fact, I'm leaving work early today because I came in early. Maybe I'll take a walk with the little one!

Down another 1.5 lbs this am, for a total of 3lbs since 01-01....I know, it's water, but at least it's a start
Yesterdays numbers were good, no cravings; it was a good day.

Today, all *legal* so far, and a unexpected bonus....I'm in ketosis! WOOHOO!!!
That's very surprising to me, seeing as I most likely had HUGE glycogen stores from all the treats I had New Year's eve.
I've already entered the foods for the rest of the day, and it looks like around 1000 calories and 15 carbs. That total will change if I have another piece of cheese or deviled egg for a snack tonight. We'll see...
Sounds like everyone is pretty focused here....YAY!!! We can do it!!! :jump:

Yesterday was good. My son was out so there was no temptation with watching him eating all the bad stuff. I baked a salmon for dinner and had left overs for lunch today. Got on the scale for the first time this morning, sigh! I deserved that high number. Too much sweets and carbs! Time to get serious and lose this blubber.

Count me in too! I have been on a downward spiral for sometime now and need to get control fast! For those of you who don't know, I was really active and dedicated to low carb for 1 1/2 years and the last six months I have been really busy opening up a new wine bar and restaurant with dh PLUS working another fulltime job. I will write more about that later...I have been desperately wanting to get back on track, because I have gained weight, my clothes don't fit and I generally feel awful! So, I am coming back to the place where I know there are a tremendous group of supportive people.

Today was my first day back and so far so good...

Breakfast -- 2 sausage links; 1 cup hot tea with sweet n' low

Lunch -- Arugula with sauteed chicken breast and roasted shallot vinaigarette with a sprinkle of blue cheese and pine nuts (gotta watch those nuts!)

Snack -- mini pepperoni sandwiches with cream cheese....yummmmm...I never made those before, but that was a great satisfying snack...

Dinner -- Haven't had that yet...off to our new restaurant and gonna see what I can find...probably a salad with some type of meat.

Good luck everyone and hang in there...one day at a time!

Meg

BTW< I need to change my signature weight, but I can't face it quite yet!! I wanted to do induction and see where I am before I do.

Welcome Back Meg!

I know what you mean Shortstuff - I had the same reaction when I got on the scale this morning. I put it into perspective though - I don't plan on seeing that number very long .

I have had a good 1st day! This morning I got in about an hour of exercise, took my vitamins, and stayed on plan all day. I need to get in some more water before I go to bed though.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Glad to see this thread getting bigger and bigger!

Did well the past 3 days and my reward was a 5 1/2 pound loss this morning since sunday. Lots of that was holiday bloat but some must be fat.

Men can just stop thinking about food and lose two lbs. Rob, you lucky guy! But congrats on the great start on the new year.

I'm happy to report that I've done fine for two days. No bad symptoms, and no feelings of hunger. Feel like I'm getting back on track nicely.

Guess my holiday bloat was worse than yours Rob.
I was at 204 Sunday morning, and have hit 198 both yesterday and today.
YEAH!!!
feeling good about this induction - tracking in Fitday, and even considering rejoining Curves.
