Default Atkins vs SBD

I am confused. I was reading through the website, and noted Atkins members posting on SBD forum. I thought - they are similar but very different diets. And, if you are on Atkins - you are on Atkins, or South Beach Diet - than you are so.
Or, on our website, you can chat in and out everywhere. That would be nice, except, again, the diets are different.
Raf.

Raf,

We are all here because we are ALL Low Carbers. It doesn't matter what program you are on, you can post in any of the forums. In fact, the more ideas we share with each other, the more we can help each other out. I have posted in the 100's forum even tho I NEVER had 100 lbs to lose. I've posted all over the boards from time to time. No one gets upset with you if you "invade their territory." It's all about being helpful and having some part of the program in common.

Some people take bits of one program and bits of another and form their own. As long as it's about LCing, no worries.

Feel free to post wherever you feel necessary and don't be worried about what forum it is. We're all in the same boat. Everyone takes a little different approach, whatever works for them.

I was hoping to hear that, Barb,
I was "attached to stigma" of Atkins forum for "those members only..." I don't know why.... I guess, because one time I had a very unpleasant experience with one of the forums online, where most members "knew it all" and it was a crime to speak up for YOURSELF in threads ( you know what I mean,smile)...
I agree , one should be able to choose and speak.
LOL.Rafaella.

I also think that a lot of the low carbers have read up on the various plans so sometimes an atkins person can comment on sbd and vice versa.

This is a great open forum...I think...and if you make an error someone may let you know but won't chastise you.

<I hope>

That sounds like you've been to one of the "fasting" forums. I've seen just what your describing there. Those that use fasting for cleansing are very upity and don't wish to discuss the anything with those that fast for weight loss. As Barb said, here that is not the case. Post wherever you feel comfortable. I will say that I crossed a line once and posted a response in the "womans" section here. I didn't even notice that it was in that area until I was done. Oh... I misunderstood the question that was asked, then saw the section and understood how I had messed up. Whoops! Now I look first just to make sure I'm not overloading my mouth.

LOL Tom!!!!

The womens' forum pretty much is visited mostly by women. But it's still public and men CAN read the posts. It's there to discuss women's personal issues, and if there is something we want to discuss privately, there's always private messaging. (That's why it's there.) If a man wants to comment on something in that forum, that's okay, but it should be kept in mind that it's most likely a "delicate" issue and SOME women might be sensitive about a man's comments.

The bottom line here though, is that this is a very friendly board and we moderators try to keep it that way. As long as no one hurts another's feelings or gets rude or upity, people are free to post wherever they feel it's necessary. If people DO get rude, we will step in and straighten them out. Our goal is to make this a SAFE place for people to discuss issues. And there's even the "Everything Else" forum for discussing off-topic issues.

So it's ALL good!!!!
