For many years, I was into "killer" coffee. My friends, family and DH couldn't believe that I could actually drink the stuff, it was sooooooooooo STRONG! But alas, the caffeine got the best of me and I couldn't put up with the heart palpitations any longer. Made the switch to to "grind my own" decaf and haven't looked back since. DH is beginning to make the switch, but he still drinks the ground stuff in the can (blech For the most part, many people simply don't know how to brew a decent cup of coffee anyway. AND...they also don't know how to store cofee so that it retains all the wonderful oils that give it that rich flavor. For me, I don't like coffe after it sits, so I brew my coffee, ONE CUP AT A TIME with a single cup, SwissGold coffee brewer. Each cup is perfection and I savor every drop. As it was stated before, there are MANY good decaf coffees available. Find one you like and get brewing!!!! Donna

I, like Doc, am stone prone but of the gallbladder type. Had my GB removed in August and STILL, I have bouts with pain where the GB used to reside. I can directly relate it to how much coffee I'm drinking. I, too, drink copious amounts of water, hoping offset the ill effects of my beloved coffee. Never noticed it to stall me, and I agree with Gregg about the appetite suppressing benefit. I have decaf that I keep on hand for an occasional late night fix or for company. Other than that, give me full brew! I do adore flavored coffees w/SFD and a squirt of fresh whipped cream in place of dessert.

I'm with the Doc on this one. DH is right this second roasting a batch of Kenyan peaberry upstairs--ah, he just dumped the beans to cool. Looking forward to enjoying them in a morning or two. Give up my morning double shot? Not on your life.
