my compromise for valentine's day was buying some sugar-alochol stuff from russell stovers for myself and dh. i very, very seldom get anything of the sort--usually only hoidays or special occassions, so it serves as a treat that 1. i KNOW better than overdoing (as there are CONsequences!) and 2. still serves to be festive enough to suit me.

Thumbs up Re: Slo-w-w-wly back away....

Barb,
You go girl!
You want this more than you wanted the chocolate! It is that simply, (see my quote!!!!)and speaking from a chocolate hound and lover, I can say that you reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllyyyyy yyyyyyyyyyy want this!!!

pat...pat....pat.....did you feel that? That was a well deserved pat on the back!
Nice Job!

I remember doing that once and spitting the Reece Cup chocolate egg out, only after tasting the "to die for" peanut butter concoxion.......that is strong will.
Go Barb Go Barb!!!!:jumpgreen

I still have junk cravings but they are not nearly as bad as when I was on various diets, and since I've changed my WOE and my way of thinking about eating/food it's a lot easier to ignore them or satisfy them with other good snacks than ever before.
I've been able to pass by donuts, albeit with fond memories, but still, that's a BIG accomplishment for me!

Iknow this thread started out talking about chocolate, but speaking of JUNK, I tried Trina's Buffalo Celery sticks the other night. And I'm telling you, that fit the bill for snacking. I added some blue cheese crumbles to some cream cheese (about a TBS. of BC to 2 oz. CC), mixed it thoroughly, cut up some celery sticks and stuffed them with the cheese mixture. Then I dripped liberal amounts of Frank's hot sauce on them ............ooh-la-la were THEY good. Quick and easy!!!! Blue cheese dressing and hot sauce would prolly work just as well.

I think part of the success of this is about finding satisfying substitutes.
