I've been thinking about this since you first posted it and I think it just makes sense to give up diet soda...so I am going to go for it. I have already gave up caffeine...... switched from regular to decaf coffee and to Diet Rite from diet coke...but I think it's time for me to take it to the next level. So when you do the challenge I'll be there!

PQ, If you are bored with just water - consider these two options:

1) Club soda + any SF davinci syrup (french vanilla is my favorite) - no carbs and you still have the fizz
2) Iced tea (flavored)

I spent the last couple of summers making sun tea out of every flavor tea I could find in the supermarket - GREAT stuff! Make a gallon jug of something simple like lemon or raspberry tea, or even something exotic like Celestial Seasons Vanilla Hazelnut tea - can I tell you how great that is cold on a hot day?! WOW!! (and many are caffeine-free, too!)

And these days it is so easy to find any flavor you can imagine - just heat up a gallon, put it in the fridge, whenever you want some, our it out over a few ice cubes - I have been turning people into iced tea fans all over the world!

Ok, I am going to be posting the challenge and thanks to Edoggiee I am going to be stealing that name!!!

NO POP TIL YA DROP!!!!
So come on over for anyone interested in not drinking pop!!!!!!

Rachel, I asked him about the tea and he said, " You want to drop the weight and look like when we met(hard and tight and hot=), drink water and only water...and not the flavored crap either!" Yikes!!!! Tough crowd, but then again looking at him......(dreamy mind you) I felt that I should listen to this drill sergant high recommendation!!!
Just to think he has preposed several times in the 9 years of knowing him!!! I guess would have strictly water in our house huh?
LOL
C-ya at the challenge folks!!!

PQ, great idea for a challenge and Edoggiee found a perfect name!

Ask him again about the tea but explain that it is NOT bottled tea (that stuff is rife with sugars and colorants and chemicals)... it is a tea bag in some hot water (the non-caffeinated, herbal teas)... they are packed with antioxidents and other extraordinary virtues - and you don't have to add sweetener or anything to them - just water and the tea bag... I'd be curious to know what his rationale is...

I don't normally drink diet sodas anymore, but Friday I had one....now I wish I hadn't. It was Diet Pepsi and they still use aspartame as a sweetener. And I think now that the sodas may stall me, too. But I had just the one. I guess I can't blame one soda for this pound I gained.

I drink iced tea year round. And the occasional hot cup, when it's really cold. I think I'm just too lazy to fool with the whole heating, brewing, sweetening by the cup thing. I will do it for 2 quarts, but not for just one cup! LOL!
