| Has anyone tried "STACKING"? (by taking Ephedrine, Caffeine, and Aspirin) I ran across this on several web sites and I am curious if anyone has tried it and if it worked or not. Also, if you did it, could you use your morning COFFEE for the caffeine?!!!!! :jump:

| I would seriously consider NOT doing something like that, for a variety of reasons. Most of us here discourage using artificial diet aids or drugs, especially OTC. Besides the health concerns, usually when you stop taking the drug, the weight comes back. You don't learn good health habits by drugging yourself, and the side-effects of these drugs can be serious, and even deadly. Add to that the fact that ephedrine is a componant in crystal meth, one of the most dangerous street drugs there is, and I wouldn't touch it with a stick.

| That mix sounds ~really~ dangerous to me - like something that could burn your stomach lining and cause ulcerss? Isn't ephedrine the same stuff that was causing heart problems and even death in phen-phen users? I'd stay far, far away from that drug combo. Drink your water instead.

| And, I definitely did not know that ephedrine was in crystal meth or in phen phen!! I positively would not touch it! Thanks!

| ephedrine was banned for a while, because of the health concerns, but recently a court reversed the ban during a legal challenge. there were reports of heart attacks and strokes. so something with that in there would be a big no for me. |

| I have tried it twice in my life with limited to no success. I did it by the book and did it for close to a year each time. You feel really wigged out the first week (jitters and such) and then things level out after that. (But my temper seemed "elevated".. short fuse...):( Not discussing the "dangers" here with ECA stacks, but the theory can be argued 50% for and 50% against whether it helps with weight loss by raising your metabolism (or your resting rate). My conclusions: 1. Eat less? Yes, for the first few days but then your body adjusts to the appetite suppression effect and you go back to eating normally. So no assistance with weight loss. 2. Sweat More? Yes, like a pig. But this does not assist in weight loss. Just makes you smelly.:o 3. Lose weight faster? No. At first I thought I was...but it was just the diuretic effect taking all that caffeine does to you. So no benefit there. 5. Dangerous? Overall, YES! Some people are very very sensitive to caffeine and or ephadra/ine. Why risk it? I have had friends try it and go to the hospital... I have other friends that can stack with no issues.... Like I said, I feel from my own experiments that its just not worth it. First the dangers and second... to take a true ECA stack... it will run you about $30-$40 dollars a month (and that is after exhaustive research for best pricing via online sites....) and it does not help with weight loss. For everything you ever wanted to know about ECA stacks and such: http://www.drumlib.com/dp/000006.htm Though the site above pretty much states that ECA stacks are "safe"... Don't trust everything you read on the "internet".

| I've used the ECA stacks in the past. I stopped when it was taken of the market. For me it was great for my workouts. I could do a lot of weights and could stay on a starimaster for hours. I guess that is one factor in my blowing out my knees. You are supposed to drop off every 10-12 weeks so as to keep its effectiveness in line. Eventually you will become immune to its effects and then end up trying to increase dosages (of course we would never go over the recommended dosage, would we). On the dangers... It was during that time that I purchased a Heart Rate monitor. While using an ECA compound I was able to hit over 110% of heart rate. Not bad in bursts to build up your cardio but it cannot go for too long. No Heart attacks for me. I am presently using an Ephedra Free compound to help with my appetite and my workout levels at the gym with some success. As noted above the arguments pro & con are 50/50. It is really up to you. Do lots of research on whatever you choose to do. Exercise, Supplements, WOE... We all have this huge resource available to us (the internet) The above is all just my opinion. Oh, I didn't know that the Ephedra ban was reversed. Gotta research that. ![]() ![]()

| I did it for awhile... and later developed cardiac arrhythmia... whether or not there was any connection I'll never know for sure, but the arrhythmia did appear post-stacking. It has all but disappeared since I lost the weight, but there's my story, just to throw in my two cents. Stacie |

| Actually, I don't think ephedra was in fen-phen, which was fenfluramine and phentermine, both of which are still available. It was the combination of the two in a drug called Redux that caused heart valve problems and pulmonary hypertension (not heart failure). Aderyn |
