| Hi All, I am sure if you have read my posts in the past you know I am a terrible cook. My dh and I eat out way to much. I am trying to find an alternative. When I cook we end up with a meat, a salad or steamed veggie and some junk carb side for dd and dh. I was thninking of trying out some meal home delivery services...does anyone have any experience with these: Home bistro Atkins at home Know of any others... I know I am asking for a lecture here about making more time to cook, save your fingers, as I know what I should do but haven't up till now, and it is not likely to change... at least I am honest. | I just looked at the Atkins at Home - nearly $1000 for a month of food for one person!! but if willing, and that is the only way to get it in - I could see it. I don't cook, but I'm managing - not as well as I should, I admit it. I haven't looked at Home Bistro. But then, I don't do well with gourmet type meals. I have considered just getting some of the South Beach frozen meals just for those 'in case' days.

| Well, I've never tried either, but at least with Atkins, you know you'd be on plan. It looks rather expensive, but if it saves you time, energy, and sanity, that may outweigh the expense. Depends on your budget, I guess.

| Found this place too... https://www.lowcarbgourmet.com/default.asp It may seem expensive if you look at only how much it costs. However if you compare how much my dh and I spend eating out, gas to get there, tips etc. in a month it is not as bad as you might think... Beside I would not be having them do every meal just a few each week to replace all that going out.. Heidi |

| Well after some convincing DH, we decided to do a trial run with a personal chef. He visted us and prepared us 5 meals and broke then into servings of two, so technically 10 meals. It cost me just a tad over $300.00. Roasted Pecan and Herb-Crusted Tilapia Smothered Pork Medallions with Sage and Apples Beefed-Up Meatloaf Grilled Basil-Marinated Chicken Chicken Fricassee with the following sides: mixed medly of veggies Gingered spaghetti squash Pecan Topped Baked Cheesy Cauliflower Brocholi with shredded cheddar cheese on top (added after cooled bacon & seasoned green beans We have only eaten one so far, and it was good. I think it will take us a month or two to eat them all. It was pricey but I am glad to have some quick options that are healthy instead of eating something OP or from fast food places... Heidi |

| Heidi, Those meals all sound delicious. I'm happy that you've found something to help you stay on plan during those rough days that we all have. Enjoy!
