Default Sleep and LC

Hi All,
Can you help me find some information or articles? did a search in this site as well as google but can not find much in terms of explaining sleep and LC. The threads I read here were people who were not sleeping well during induction.

I find the opposite effect for me, I have very vivid dreams and a real lack of restful sleep when I am off plan. When I am eating OP I sleep deeply and restfully. Does anyone have any information about how eat LC effects sleep or the brain? Or would you just like to tell me you experiences with Sleep and LC?

Heidi

hello heidi.

interesting question...i personally haven't experienced changes to dreaming, but i believe that what you eat and your supps will influence seretonin levels (or anti-depressants if you happen to take them), which in turn impacts dreaming. that's where i would investigate...

Heidi, my sleep problems were hormonal (perimenopause and menopause), not dietary. Not hot flashes or night sweats, just waking up every hour! However, I don't have indigestion problems anymore since I'm doing low carb, so that helps me sleep better. As for dreams, well, I think I have more vivid dreams if I eat shortly before bed.

Low carbing has helped me sleep better in the long run, though. I wake more rested now, not as groggy and foggy headed as when I ate high carb foods.

Do you think it could have anything to do with the brain using ketones instead of sugar?
