| I have recently discovered Greek Yogurt! I love it with strawberries and splenda sprinkled over top. Question - on the full fat version the saturated fat is very high - is this something to worry about? The low fat version is much lower and the carb count jumps from 6 to 8 which does not seem like much. How often would you think it's safe to eat this and which version would be the better choice? I am a little lost on this one! Thanks!

| I, personally, don't pay any attention to saturated fat. The only fats I avoid are trans-fats (hydrogenated fats). As to your question about how often to eat it, that's an individual decision that only you can answer. If it fits into your current carb level and doesn't interfere with your loss, then it's good. If it slows down your losses and/or triggers cravings, then maybe less is better.

| my concern was if I have it daily is that much saturated fat a problem? I guess I am kinda like you because I have never paid attention to saturated fat before, but someone mentioned the high amount in this and it got me second guessing! Thanks for your input....

| I've just been reading about FATS in Dr. Atkins's Atkins for Life. He says (p. 56): "In the past three decades, there has been a lot of media attention given to the connection between a diet high in saturated fats and heart disease. In a low carb environment, just the opposite is true." Italics mine. Atkins recommends eating a variety of fats from different sources, including the saturated fats in red meat, coconut oil, and butter. They are part of the mechanism, combined with low-carb, that reduces LDL ("bad") cholesterol, increases HDL ("good") cholesterol, and substantially reduces triglycerides (apparently one of the big indicators of potential heart disease.) Other types of fats are found in fish and fish oils, avocados, nuts, and flaxseed. Low-fat versions of some foods often have carbs in some form of sugar added for consistency and flavor. Go for the regular! But, as in all things, moderation is the key. I wouldn't eat any one thing every day. |

| Charmed. I feel that the more I worry about this and that and then this and what about this number on the scale and what if I don't eat enough of this and what if this is too much..... reading that alone was like whoa right? Why do that to yourself, if you enjoy it and you like it THAT much why not have it. Sounds like you are restricting alot and sacrificing alot why would you give up something (as often as you want it) if you know that you enjoy it and if it doesn't stall you. eat....and be happy you found something that fits this WOE. Good Luck!

| It's very creamy and thick - almost like a dessert. And it's not nearly as bitter as regular plain yogurt. Today I had it with Almond extract, 2 splendas and a handful of almonds tossed in.... it could have passed for a very decadent dessert!
