Wink Doing the right things...

I have a demanding job that requires lots of time and travel. In the past year I had kinda slipped off track and while the scale was not moving up (fluctuating 5 lbs up and down which I consider normal) it felt like things were moving around. I could see a change in my waistline - and I did not like what I was seeing! Due to the travel and being on the road it became very hard to stick to my WOE. Not to mention the cheesecake and cookies in catering! I decided it was time to get back on track because I promised myself when I bought my first pair of size 6 pants that I would never, ever buy pants in a larger size again! In the past three weeks I have once again cut out all sugar and junk and I am sticking to eating right. I have always maintained exercising although not as much as I would like due to not always being able to find the time. I am sure this is why I did not gain weight even though I was eating junk. Anyhow, it's been about 3 weeks and I have noticed my energy level is up again and I feel great. I no longer need 3 diet cokes just to make it through the day! It's much easier now to bypass the garbage that shows up at the office - we constantly have sweets. I rode my bike 20 miles on Saturday and still had energy to go out that night. But most of all my head is clear and my spirits are up. I would gladly trade all the cheescakes and diet cokes in the world to continue feeling this way... it's a great reminder of why I chose this WOE and why I cannot EVER go back to my old ways. This board has been a great resource for me. I need to re-read DANDR, but just can't seem to find the time. It's nice to have a place to turn when I have questions or need inspiration. Thanks....

Great testimonial! Best wishes.

I'm not you, but I've always had this experience with time: when there's something I really, really want to do, the time to do it magically appears. As for DANDR, I have three copies. There's always one within arm's reach, and I find it invaluable for inspiration. I wonder if there's a Book on Tape version?? Note to self: marketing opportunity.

Charmed, it's so good to hear that you're doing so well, especially having all that energy. (Want to send some my way?)

I keep my copy of DANDR on the coffee table. I've even had it in the bathroom for a while, since I spend some quality time in there occasionally. Now I'm going to get a highlighter and start marking the parts that I really want to remember, that seem to be pertinent to me right now.

Come back often.
