so..... Do i understand correctly that if

"Ongoing Weight Loss" at Low Carb Diet Support: "It says 0 net carbs (eg these 0carb lollies you can buy) They are ok to eat?...."

Short answer: probably not.

There are many ingredients which makers of lc candies deduct which experience has shown interfere with most people's weight loss efforts. Always do your own net carb calculation. Total carbs, minus fiber = net carbs. If you deduct only fiber, you'll be safest.

Later in your weight loss journey, you might experiment with some of these "iffy" ingredients, but to begin with, stick with real food and avoid the "frankenfoods."

Meantime, that doesn't mean that you can't whip up some things for an occasional sweet craving. Many folks have found that sugar-free jello (you guys call it "jelly", right?) is a possibility. It's especially nice that you can top it with home made whipped cream, sweetened with splenda. Also nice is a bit of sour cream or creme fraiche, with some cocoa and splenda. Mixed up it's like a chocolate mousse.

chickpea- you may want to check out andrea's great article on sugar alcohols, which will answer some of your questions about those iffy ingredients maggie mentioned. i found it hugely helpful.
