Default Losing stopped this week..WWYD?

HI all,
I was doing induction and added some macademia nuts each day....I stopped losing since Monday (for about 1 week) Should I move back to induction?(I did it strictly for about 2 weeks)I have about 15 more pounds to go...

PS (a little more info)I am not worried about keeping with this WOE even if I reach my goal weight quickly because I was a super strict vegetarian before and was able to stick with that until I developed health issues. This WOE is so satisfying/healthy I know I can committ to the lifestyle. (I mentioned this because the Atkins book taks about slowing your weight loss to create good habits)

Thanks so much,
Jennifer

Jennifer, there could be a number of things going on here. First, weight loss is not constant with this WOE. Everyone has periods where they do not lose weight, even though they made no changes in their eating or exercise routines. It is normal, so relax, it is not necessary to go back to induction. Second, nuts can cause some people to stall, but that is a YMMV thing. However, nuts are calorie dense and at some point calories do matter, especially as you get closer to your goal. Third, when you move to OWL, you are learning eating patterns to carry you through life, including what level of carbs your body can assimilate and what foods cause you problems. However, it is an individual learning process that is unique to each person. It is a trial and error process that can be frustrating as you figure out what works for you. As you indicate your weight loss stopped with the nuts, I would suggest elimination of the nuts while maintaining your current carb level and see if your weight loss resumes. Remember, you need to go for 1 month, not 1 week, without losing weight or inches before you could be classified as having a "stall". If your weight loss resumes, you will have an indication that nuts may be something you have to watch your consumption of. They are for me, so I try to watch how frequently and how many I eat, even though the carb totals are still on plan for me. However, I would be hesitant to base any conclusion as to the cause of a stall or the effect of a particular food on me until I had more information and experience with it. For example, I have found through repeated observation an apparent correlation for me that if I have 1/4 cup of peanuts a night on a constant basis, I will stall/gain weight. However, if I have 1/4 cup of peanuts once a week it has no impact on me. HTH

Thanks for the advice/experience sharing.....I think I will just cut out nuts and see how it goes....and just have more green veggies. It is interesting how a particular food can affect individuals...Jennifer

in addition, it's very common for people to have a breif pause in losses shortly after induction. it seems to be part of the process for a lot of people, so i wouldn't be overly concerned.

and as henry pointed out, a very important part of the plan overall is learning what your individiual patters are, what you can eat without issue and what creates slowdowns for you, etc. with only 15 pounds to go, you can expect it will probably take some time. and that's ok, as you pointed out. you know you can do it. so just keep aware of the choices you're making and track what causes problems, and you'll get what you most need out of owl then: knowledge of how your body works.

good luck!
