Smile Time to reconnect

It has been awhile! I have undergone some major changes and during the process gained 15 pounds. Yuck! So time to come back to the web site that guided me through the initial weight loss of 80 pounds and back to induction.

After a lifetime of being overweight, I lost 80 pounds, got mammary enhancement , self confidence, and finally a divorce. My ex wasn't a bad person but for 12 years he was the main voice in our lives. It was time for me to become an adult and unfortunately, he could not accept my new direction.

Diet wise, I was only eating about 600 calories per day due to stress and got down to a size 0. As life began to stabilize, I incorporated comfort foods, basically, high carb foods. At first, I didn't see a difference. It didn't take long for the carb cravings to take effect and soon I was eating junk that was not even satisfying. My clothes got tighter and all last school year I was wearing the few items of clothing that were at the largest spectrum of my wardrobe. Thank goodness I disposed of the larger sizes and was to stubborn to buy new clothes.

I tried a low calorie approach and began going to the gym, sometimes even two times a day. I got on the scale and found that I didn't even lose 1 pound. My clothes still fit the same too. I knew at that time that I had to buckle down and do what I know works for me and my body.

So, I'm back. Right now I'm in third week of Induction and have lost 2.5 pounds. It sure doesn't come off as rapidly as the first time but I am in it for the long haul. I have more energy than I have had in the last year which is another indication that this way of life is good for me.

I look forward to getting to know everyone. I have always loved this site for the people and support!

Welcome back, Red! I remember you from before. I'm back again myself, but unfortunately with a larger gain. Pregnancy messed me up, and then once you let that sugarmonster in... watch out!!

Anyway, welcome back and best wishes!

Red, I remember what a wonderful supporter you were to me in our "Last 10 pounds to go" thread!

I, too, am struggling with carb creep and attendent creeping weight gain. Always a bit of a struggle, an' sure. Ah, well. As you point out above, it certainly beats the alternative!

Welcome back!

Welcome back. Sounds like you've got your head in a good place. You'll be feeling better soon on the low-carb lifestyle, and the weight loss will come along. Good health is the goal, and you're on your way again.

Best wishes.
