| I'm so happy this site is still around. I joined back in 2002 at 180 lbs and lost 30 lbs in 6 months; i was obssesed with the lifestyle and loved it. i got pregnant for the first time in December 04 and stopped lce because i was afraid it would harm my baby, i know better know. In any case i gained 70 lbs and have lost 45lbs so far. My son just turned 1 on Saturday and he was worth evey pound and stretchmark. All that said i need to get back on the lc lifestyle because i remember how good it felt to not be addicted to carbs and sugar....I LOVED IT and had tons of people join in after my success. My issue is that i was looking at my food journals and was dissapointed to see that i was eating under 1500 calories a day which seems so low. you see when i ate all the protein i wanted i didn't loose weight on lc, i had to actually watch my calories as well. I think i needed to be so restrictive because i did not excersise, i now walk half hour to work every day and do 30 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a week; started last week because i'm serious about getting back down to 150lbs Have any of you noticed that you need to watch your calories? If so what is your range? |

| Curly....hi and welcome *home*!! Glad you are here On the calorie thing...sad but true...I don't lose well if I go much over 1300-1400 calories. But with all things...YMMV. Congrats on your little guy and good luck on your LC journey back to good health. S.

| I have a couple great sites to check your calories on. www.thedailyplate.com will keep track of your calories and food you need for the day. It's kind of fun too. Another great site is www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm Welcome to the group and congrats on all the weight you've lost so far. |

| Welcome back! ... and congratulations! On the calories issue, I've never tracked them since my hunger/satiety feedback system seems to work ok for me. I know, however, that many people track calories here. In addition to the above, there's alwasy fitday.com as another free alternative for tracking intake. Nice to see you here again.

| Thankyou ladies, glad to be back. Those sites are all great; i will start using them in the next week or so. For now i'm trying to just eat protein and veggies when i'm hungry and not over do it and if that works and i loose a few pounds and two weeks then i won't track my calories. |

| Well this is a first. I just started back on Sunday and have been eating nothing but protein; lots of it i admit but nothing to dramatic eg: B 2 eggs with 2 slices of cheddar cheese L Big burger D Lots of meat; about 8 ounces with raw veggies and salad and lots of dressing. Very little water; i think this is a major reason of my failure. Lots of coffee |
