Default Tweaking my menu

A couple of weeks ago I asked for help with my menu. Now I need to know if there are any areas I need to change or (british accent insert here) BY GOLLY I'VE GOT IT! As for my water though a while back someone told me on the boards that I may be drinking TOO much water and that may cause me to stall but I SERIOUSLY feel dehydrated after I use the restroom as if I have not had water ALL day. It seems the MORE water I drink the MORE dehydrated I feel. What is UP with that!!??

Monday
Breakfast 2 eggs and a sausage patty
Snack: peperoni and cheese cubes
Lunch: A salad made w/ 2 c cabbage 1 cup lettuce chicken salad made w/ mayo & sugar free relish 1 TBS ranch dressing, and TBS ACV
Snack: pork rinds or 1 c broccoli (not quite sure which)
Dinner: baked Salmon w/ small salad made w/ lettuce & small pieces of broccoli, carrot and parmesean cheese
snack: handful of peanuts
Water approx 179 oz
exercise: 35 minutes upper body

Tuesday
Breakfast: 5 sausage balls 1 c each made w/ cheddar cheese and soy flour
Snack: Cheese cubes
Lunch: Salmon & salad 2 cups lettuce 1 cup cabbage w/ small pieces of broccoli, carrot, and parm cheese
Dinner: Hardee's LC thickburger no onions, no ketchup extra mayo add bacon
water approx 179 oz
1 sugar free Red Bull
exercise 20 minutes intensive interval cardio training

Wednesday
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs 3 pieces of bacon
snack: 4 deviled egg halves
lunch: Chicken breast 1 cup broccoli
snack: pork rinds
dinner: meat loaf w/ squash and cauliflower (inside) and 2 cups cabbage 1 cup lettuce, w/ parm cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, ACV, and ranch dressing

Oh yeah add coffee w/ 3 splenda to that each of those days

I've been using cabbage to substitute spinach since the whole "spinach'll kill ya" thing. And NOW there's the lettuce thing!! Although where I buy my lettuce they are saying that their stores were not affected by it. I think that this is a conspiracy against low carbers perpertrated by the rice & potato growers and the high carb white bread makers!

Thank you all in advance!!
Hugs and Kisses!

I'm glad you found a food plan that works for you.

I always "go" more than I drink when I'm doing really well with my carb count and drink all my water. I do know that dehydrated feeling you speak of. I saw a doctor on PBS that was talking about the superfoods and he said unless your urine is clear you are dehydrated. it should only be yellow in the morning. OK to make that happen in me I have to drink so much water I feel like I'm floating sometimes.

I was trying to figure out a way to add more carbs a couple of weeks ago and get back on track and I think I found it. I could not for the LIFE of me figure out how I did it the first time. I asked if what I've been eating sounds OK but I guess it definitely is because I weighed at the gym monday was VERY upset that it was 188!! So I said I wwouldn't weigh again until NEXT monday no matter what. Then I went to Publix and got on their scale yesterday and it said 181 and I just KNEW the one at the gym was wrong or Publix was crazy. So I got on the scale at the gym this morning to see how much of a difference it was than the one at Publix just to get an idea. The scale at the gym said 180! SO I must have had a crap load of water weight or there was some serious whoosing going on there...I don't know whatever the reason I hope that it's not a fluke and it will stay gone and won't creep back up. Because this puts me at 10 lbs to first mini goal left!

What a great surprize to be down eight pounds and not even realize it.
I thought your menus looked good but I have no idea how you are drinking that much water. You must have to buy TP by the truck load.
Have you added berries or any friuit back to your diet yet? I try to eat berries a couple times a week which have been pretty available until lately in CA. A small slice of cantaloupe is reasonable too.
Just wanted to say congrats on the big whoosh, that's excellent.

LOL!! I feel like I do! I about ran to the bathroom just now between classes! I had to restrain myself from running in the halls bc I'm always telling the kinds not to run!

In the morning during my work out I drink 32oz, when I get to work I drink another 32 before and during my 1st class, another 32 during lunch, 32-64 during the last 1/2 of the school day ESPECIALLY when my dancers come and I have to dance w/ them to show them correct way to do the dance and the particular one we're doing right now is the Ricky Martin Cup of Life song which is EXTREMELY high energy. I drink the last 32 during the afternoon and I usually have a Red Bull bc I wake up so darn early to go to the gym!! I couldn't beleive I was actually drinking THAT much I had to add the numbers 3 times before I actually believed it!

I haven't added berries yet. I just restarted induction SUCCESSFULLY this past Monday. This is day 5 cheat free. Would it be wise to add those now? Or do a full 2 weeks of induction? Which is really between 25-30 carbs because I'm exercising daily. What's really funny is after being so scared to up my carbs and then overdosing on them, now that I've actually done it I've seen the scale move! I was exercising and not eating ENOUGH carbs and the scale DID NOT BUDGE! and I was getting frustrated! Up the carbs people listen to everyone who says it works because it REALLY REALLY does!

Chesnut,
I just had to add to my last post. I've drank 100 oz of water so far this morning. I bought a 50 oz bottle of water last night and I think that makes the water drinking "worse" if drinking water can be bad. Exercising makes me thirsty, coffee leaves me thirsty, and my morning snack of pork rinds makes me thirsty! I'm thinking I may have to take it easy on the water somehow for the rest of the day but it's hard because I talk so much when my classes come!! Maybe it'll level off this weekend or something maybe I won't drink as much tomorrow when I'm not moving around like a chicken w/ it's head cut off!!
Thanks again for the suggestions!

If you're doing induction you might as well do it as suggested, I didn't realize you had jumped ship and were just getting back aboard when I read your post. I thought you were trying to figure out what carbs to add.

I was so nervous when I had to start adding carbs back I think I never really did find out where I lose and where I stall because although I haven't lost pounds I look different and my clothes fit better because of excersizing. Fruit was a happy addition, nuts are my downfall.

I don't know what to say about the water except that it seems like too much to me. That is just my opinion, I have no medical background and no reason to believe that I am right. I have had the experience of excersizing hard and really drinking a lot and if you are doing that everyday it makes sense that you are going to be thirsty, but do you think you are drinking too much? Your body will let you know I guess. Please don't base anything on what I am saying either (I'm nervous even saying something- in case someone else will think I'm nuts for butting in.)

No matter what you're doing great, that's what counts.

Don't worry if other people think you're nuts! Because if that's the case I'm right there with you!!! I think that I'm drinking too much but I am seriously thirsty and I don't feel like I'm stuffing myself w/ it. But I remember reading somewhere that you CAN drink TOO much and I don't remember what the number was. With that article I do remember it saying that it was almost impossible to drink TOO much though...I'd still like to know what that number is.

No worries about the suggestions! Thanks for offering them

great seeing you posting again, I was looking over your menu, and if you are feeling like you have to drink I noticed a few things that were high salt... pepperoni, bacon bits, bacon, sausage, pork rinds...

Not that those are bad choices, but remember that most processed meats.... pepperoni, bacon, etc. are highly salted, and may make you want to drink and drink....

you are doing great, I have just gotten BOT (back on track) myself and am feeling much better about my food choices.

take care and have a great lc day.

Thanks Carolyn! What would be some substitutions for those? I did think about the pork rinds being high in sodium and that could cause water retention (I've read) and I WOULD like to avoid that. Thanks for the suggestions!

Good then maybe we can partner up or something and be back on track buddies! LOL

substitutes: sf jello, celery sticks, cuke slices, hard boiled eggs, (especially if it is protien that you are craving). I rarely need a snack, I usually eat breakfast when I get to work (8:30 ish) = usually hard boiled eggs with mayo (egg salad) or some scrambled eggs with sausage and cheese, and eat lunch around 1ish and usually have a salad wtih veggies, and some kind of protien - baked chicken, left over meat fromnight before, or some cheese and ham for a chef salad.

Dinner is usually when I get home- 6-7ish and some protien and salad or cooked veggies....

if I am needing to snack - then I will usually have a piece of cheese, ham, or drink some water.
If you are eating fruit, strawberries with a little splenda and a little cream drizzled over is a great snack...and has a wonderful sweetness...
hoope this helps.

actually, for water retention i usually recommend upping water intake. LOL... it actually does help, so that drinking you do may keep you from retaining much water.

i have a 64 oz. water jug, and i drink from 1 to 3 of those a day. looks like you've got me beat by some there. but as long as you're doing well and feeling good, i wouldn't worry about it too much. bear in mind i'm not a doc and don't play one one the internet!

now i'm going to have to good look this up. darn you, ladies! lol

Thanks Goddess!

Are you sure you don't play a doctor on the internet? You look SOOO familiar!

Thanks for the advice although I should have said celery ain't gonna cut it anyway you slice it! I've tried it with peanut butter, ranch dressing, plain, cooked...I HATE celery and I KEEP trying the stuff hoping that one day it'll change it's taste or something. Nope. Still nasty. Funny I say nasty because I tell my kids not to say that ALLLL the time. I tell them to say that they don't like it. But celery? It's nasty! LOL

What are cukes?

I need to snack ALLL day! My body is just calling for input. I just have the eternal munchies. I don't know if it's because of the HIIT workouts in the am or what!

Tia, "cukes" is intended to be a shortened form of cucumber.
