| I thought I'd share this really great website to buy low carb chocolate bars that taste INCREDIBLE!! The kinds you buy in the store compare nothing to the flavor of these ones.. they have tons of flavors including mint, orange, jamaican rum, rasberry, hazelnut, strawberry, french vanilla, banana.. and the list goes on and on. If you love flavored milk or dark chocolate then I strongly suggest you look into getting some to feed those chocolately cravings. 1 bar (1.2 ounces) is only 3 carbs.. the only thing you have to remember though is like with most low carb chocolates you have to watch how much you comsume because too much can give a laxative effect. Other than that I promise you, you wont be sorry. I personally think they taste way better than any of those low carb reeses and herseys that you find at your local store. | Also, keep in mind, that these candies are sweetened with maltitol. For those of us who test our blood glucose levels, most have found that maltitol raises BGL's pretty much like sugar. For those who are in the weight loss stage, many have reported that maltitol sweetened candies can bump one out of ketosis. For myself, I avoid it entirely. YMMV.

| Sigh, yes. Maltitol sweetened candies taste good but they are problematic. I get quite a digestive upset ~and~ I don't lose weight. Actually, I guess the fact that maltitol gives me gas and ,... whatever, is a good thing - I'm not tempted to indulge my sweet tooth with maltitol treats.

| When it comes to chocolate, I am a firm believer in the natural stuff - the highest percentage dark chocolate I can find (usually around 88% though there is one store here that carries a 99% cocoa bar - just haven't been to that store yet) There is very mimimum sugar and carbs in this and it's not very sweet. One little square is all I need to satisfy my taste, and I'm not left with sugar cravings, bloating, laxative effects or anything else sugar alcohols might cause. I eat one square a day, and it has not done any ill effects to me whatsoever nor have I gained any weight eating it. Goes best with coffee - for me, anyway. |

| AmberLyn does a booth at Costco once in a while. I get way too many when they do. :great: I'm one of those that metobolizes Maltitol. So I keep my intace of them to a minimum. My favorites: Dark Chocolate and Mint Dark Chocolate. DW likes the White Chocalte versions.

| do be careful with anything having malitol. i have had the worst cramps in my life from overdoing malitol. other sugar alcohols can cause issues for me if i overdo, but malitol is the worst i've found so far. i was miserable enough to make me avoid malitol like the plague. |
