Now that I am in OWL I have introduced flaxseed, I didn't want to in Induction.

How do you count your flax?

I am counting 0.25 cup as 180 calories and 1 carb, does that sound about right?

My package of Bob's Red Mill Golden Organic Flaxseed meal says that for 2 tbs it has 60 calories, 4 gms carbs, 4 gms fiber and 3 gms protein. Double that and you'll have the stats for 1/4 cup, if you use that brand. I don't think there's a big difference from brand to brand, although the actual grind of the meal might make a difference, maybe? It sure is a good source of fiber, and this particular brand tastes the best of any I have tried.

Yes, and the golden variety is "prettier" in certain baked goods.

I notice the golden variety of seeds grinds into a finer meal than the brown ones. And, yes, the baked goods have a nice golden color - not so dark as the brown seeds.

I can only find the dark ones, but they are fine, I am just happy to find flax at all.

The thing is, I am not sure that I can eat flax. I love the taste, and the benfits of flax are great, however, I am testing it this week, so will see on Tuesday when I weigh in.
