do not fret, I stall at least every 3 weeks. You are off to a great start. The loss slows the closer you are to goal. A stall isn't really considered a stall until it lasts 4 weeks. Hang in there, you are doing great!!!

I was on a 5-6 pound roller coaster since mid-May. I would go up and down a lot. But, I think I am starting to lose again. (Down to 232 today!) I am 2 pounds away from having lost 150 pounds since my highest weight. That's basically one of me now and one of my DD now, and a 10 pounds sack of something and a about 3 pounds of something.

Oh, I think you are okay. Just keep doing whatever you did to lose those 30 lbs.!

If you still think you are stalled in another 1-2 weeks, then it may be worth re-assessing your food plan and tweaking it a bit.

How close to your goal weight are you? Things that worked for me when I started, didn't work so well a few months later when I had less weight to lose.

Teelbee is right on target.

What works at the start, doesn't always keep working. I've had to tweak my diet as well as I've gotten closer to goal.

And stalls every few weeks are common. Just keep at it for another week or so and then see if you need to change anything.

How close are you to goal? If 20 or less, then you MAY need up your carbs OR lessen your calories OR both. Whatever changes you make to your diet, keep with it for about 2 weeks before making other changes to see if it works.

Good luck!

Hi
I am new to this site, have browsed around a lot of other sites and really like this one. I 'm glad I found you all before the crash.
I started atkins 6/1/03 and lost 31 lbs the first 2 months. I lost 1 lb in Aug and started to change somethings I ate & drank Like a diet soda called Waist watchers (splenda) chocolate fudge I think I was becoming addicted. once I cut that out and drank more water I lost 3 lbs in one day. I know it can be frustrating but just keep doing it because it works.

Just an anecdote, to make you feel better (I hope):

I was stalled for 4 months at 49 pounds! It was all I could do to break the 50-pound barrier! Talk about a frustrating number to be stuck at.

Keep the faith! It'll come off!

In my case, there's a set point weight. I stayed at 200 for a very long time once upon a time when I was in my early 20's. When I reach 200, I stay there and can't budge for months. It's as if my body is saying: "Hey, this is where I'm supposed to be." It's only through portion control and counting calories as well as carbs that I get below 200. I'm shortly reaching that set point again and I know it's going to take some months to get in the 190's again.

Just my two cents...

Sometimes you have to allow you body time to adjust to the new weight before it will lose any more. It's taken me 10 months to lose 34 pounds. It's slow, but I think because it's been that way it's given me time to make permanent lifestyle and mind adjustments. I would love to be at goal for my one year anniversary, but a few weeks ago I came to the realization that the more I stressed over the loss, the worse it was. When I just determined to let it happen as it happens, things got much better.

I also stall every 2-3 weeks . Sometimes your body needs time to re-adjust to a new weight. A true stall is 6 weeks or longer with no cheats.
Hang in there, the weight will come off.

Don't always go by what the scales tell you either - 'cause sometimes - THEY LIE!

Check for inches lost, how your clothes fit, how you feel...much better measures of success for me.

You know, when climbers are climbing Mt. Everest, they have to stop every once in a while and set up "base camps," little bases where they can relax and get their nerves together before they start another leg in the journey up the mountain.

I don't think it's that unreasonable for our bodies to do the same thing. I'm sure that the guy leading the climb might feel like yelling at everybody to get off their duffs and keep climbing, but there's sense in doing things in stages.

Yup, I can also attest to the Set Point fact. I was at 110lbs-112lbs for several years. Now my body just doesn't want to leave those numbers. I've been stalling for 3 weeks now, but on the bright side, I've been losing inches and fitting better into my new clothes. Pretty soon I will have to buy new pants. And I am optimistic that eventually the walls will break down and I will get below 110

My left leg weighs 110! You must be TINY! I've always envied people like you. The most I can hope for is to get to 155, but I've been told I'd look like a skeleton at that weight. My sister is tiny. I always envied her, too.

I have problems with comparing myself to others. Sorry.
