Default Lent

Is anyone using the preparation time of Lent to do something related to their WOE?

I am thinking of testing myself by giving up dairy.

I am not sure yet if I cn function without cream cheese.

Soya milk would not count right?

soy milk is not dairy so it would be ok to use ....

I have not given up anything for lent for a long time, but since I have already gone 23 days with no sugar, I guess I can extend that to go thru lent....
then I can go for 100 days after that... since by the time lent ends I will have gone about 75 days and another 25 will get me to 100... so..
no sugar for lent....
I will join you alcmene, and we can celebrate on easter sunday (I will actually wait to celebrate with sugar, but we can do something)

ha ah thanks!

I actually started no dairy the day I made that post, going fine so far although I did walk past some cream cheese the other day and looked at it with longing, and a black Americano is not quite the same as a Starbucks house blend with whipped cream on top!

I gave up dairy about 2 years ago. (including eggs though I guess they don't really count as dairy) It was one of the greatest things I have ever done. Since then, I have been free of:

1) yeast infections
2) colds
3) runny nose
4) coughing, sneezing & wheezing after taking a taste of dairy
5) mucous (a little TMI but it feels good to FINALLY be dry)
6) bloating

The dh and I gave it up together. At first, he was more adamant about it than I was. But after a few months of trial and error of trying to give it up, I finally became adamant about not eating dairy as well.

I am happy not eating dairy now. I did cave twice, both of them was with using parmesan cheese as a coating. I think I will carry on with eating dairy only on occassion. Not planning on giving up eggs though!
