Welcome BDavid !When I hear clear liquids the only thing I think of is chicken or beef broth. I love both of these. The veggie broth may be OK too. I am not sure of the carb count on them.

Good luck on your procedure.

Thanks, Susan. Actually, I've been around this board for a couple of months - but hadn't visited in a week or so and got snookered by this new appearance! Had to reregister for some reason.
Anyway, that's all I can think of myself, with the addition of maybe white grape juice and water. I'm not too worried about the carbs with no solids coming in for over 24 hrs.

Hi Barbara,

Any liquid you can hold up to the light and see through is considered a clear liquid...and also coffee and tea with NO cream, and coke is also considered clear liquid. The beef and chicken broths are good; if you are not going to worry about carb intake, then you could have popsicles also(as long as they melt "clear"). Also, 7-up,jello and apple juice, and cyrstal light soft drinks. We tell our colonoscopy patients just not to consume anything with red or purple dye in it.

HTH

Shelley

Hi Shelley,
thanks for your response. Actually, the procedure is not a colonoscopy although I can see why you might think that. As a nurse, I know what constitutes a clear fluid...I was just looking for some more Atkins-friendly ideas to make the long day of boring eating a bit easier!
