I read an article about real plain yogurt being good to eat. The carbs aren't really accurate. I would LOVE to have 1/2 cup of yogurt with Splenda, vanilla, and some berries. What's the deal! TIA! Cindy

yes, you can have yogurt. and many of us are into Kefir (which to me is like a liquid yogurt)

the cars are low and it's a great source of calcium and protein

the is a great article on Low Carb Luxury that explains yogurt: http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/yogurt.html

FYI - my own experience is that plain, whole milk kefir has much less impact on my blood glucose levels than plain, whole milk yogurt does.

Yogurt acts just about like milk on my blood sugar.

    YMMV.

I read the yogurt article and didn't believe it, but you should feel free to experiment with it and find out for yourself. We're all unique.

I'm way past experimenting with it. I used to have yogurt binges with fresh yogurt from the Alta-Dena dairy, the best yogurt there ever was. I think the Alta-Dena drive-thru guy knew there was something wrong with me I used to binge on their non-pasteurized kefir, too. Oh well, it's off limits for me now.

I eat natural live ('bio') yogurt every day. I'm not sure if I can get kefir or not over here. Plain unsweetened bio yogurt varies from 6+ to 10+ carb grams per 100g. It hasn't stalled me, though I tend to eat it early in the day anyway.

I saw the article which claims that the bacteria eats up the sugars in the yogurt, I'd love to believe that but for want of more info, I tend to keep my intake to about one individual size pot a day.

I LOVE yogurt and wouldn't be without it.
