| I started the low carb diet 7 months ago and did great, went form 181 to 147 ! Here lately tho I been eating things that I wouldnt have dared to eat 3 months ago. What I want to know, does it matter as long as you stay under a certain amount of carbs a day, does it matter where the carbs are coming from.Like a piece of toast in the morning, and then the rest what I would normally eat. I am staying around or under 40-45 carbs and havent gained any but I dont want it to sneak up on me so I am starting to worry if its ok. Thanks for the help,Yvonne

| Congratulations, Yvonne! In terms of exactly where carbs might come from, it's always an experiment to find out what sort of things, and in what amounts, work for you. If you're close to your desired weight (towards the end of OWL, or during pre-maintenance) it's the time to try adding some wholesome (unrefined) foods to your way of eating to see what works for you. Small amounts of whole grain bread and modest amounts of certain fruits are perfectly appropriate for most folks.
