I have been lcing for almost 5 months now and was losing at a steady pace, 2-3 lbs per week except for the 1st of june had complete hysterectomy, 10 inch incision...I am on bio identical hormones so I am ok in that dept....anyway 40 days ago I began exercising daily, 20 minutes on treadmill and 45 minutes in pool swimming laps, leg lifts, et! I was at 230 when I began to exercise and within 3 weeks had lost 5.5 inches and gained 8 lbs, then a week later the 8 lbs fell off...then I lost another 6.5 inches...then I went up to 236, thats 6 more lbs but I have meanwhile lost another 2.5 inches! I drink plenty of water and keep my carbs at 30 or less and my keto sticks are purple....I have been completely inactive for at least 4 years so the exercise is new to me.....has anyone had anything like this happen to them or am I just strange?? I will mention that I am allergic to soy and ate a lc muffin 5 days ago I found was made with soy and the next day my feet were swollen but swelling went away in about 3 days! Thanks for any feedback! To get to the rainbow you must first pass through the rain!

I'd be willing to bet that you're putting on muscle from all the exercising! And that's a good thing! Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. As long as your diet hasn't changed much since you started exercising, etc., I wouldn't worry too much about the scale... I'd concentrate on all those inches that are falling off! Our goal is to be smaller, no necessarily lighter. No one can "see" how much you weigh, but they sure can see if you've gotten smaller and more toned! Keep up the exercising! Mada 210/209/140

I agree with Mada, you are probably gaining muscle and losing fat! Congrats. Also remember that muscle tissue is more dense, therefore takes up less room than fat and makes your metabolic rate higher. Susan LC and feeling better every day! Atkins since 7/18/03 210/190/140

| You are almost certainly gaining muscle, especially if you have been sedentary up until now. I know that when I do a lot of weight lifting I go into a stall - then when I take a break for a weak the weight falls off again. | Thanks everyone, I hope I do not have to take a break in my exercising to lose any, I am afraid if I miss a day or 2 I may not go back to it! To get to the rainbow you must first pass through the rain! |

Keep it up, it will only help you. And also remember it takes more energy for muscle to exist than fat. Meaning your new muscles are burning more energy (fat) just being there! So way to go and keep it up! Crystal 202/178/140 I can feel it melting away!
