Hi, FYI in case your like me and bought the 700 PACKETS in 1 box of Splenda (I love those $100. stores) - there is a conversion as opposed to the GRANULAR Splenda. I just received a notice from Spendaa - here goes: When using SPLENDA (R) Packets to prepare a recipe, 24 packets will equal the sweetness of 1 cup of sugar. SPLENDA (R) Granular is formulated to measure cup for cup like sugar when using the product for cooking and baking. SPLENDA (R) Packets, like some other no-calorie or low-calorie sweeteners you may be familiar with, are equal to the sweetness of 2 teaspoons of sugar. Therefore, you should be able to substitute SPLENDA (R) Packets in your recipe packet-for-packet. I have over sweetened more then 1 recipe while trying to figure out the ratio.

The carb count is different for granular Splenda than for Splenda in packets, too. That's because the granular Splenda has more filler, Maltodextrin, which adds carbs. Here's the info Splenda Customer Service sent me: Splenda Granular 1 tsp = 0.5 gm carb = 2 calories one half cup = 12 gm carb = 48 calories 1 cup = 24 gm carb = 96 calories Packet of Splenda 1 packet = .9 gm of carb = 4 calories 0 grams of fat, 0 mg. of sodium, and 0 grams of protein per packet. ~~~Teelbee 174 (Mar. 2002, highest weight), 164 (Jan. 2003, begin LC) 164/135/137-134 remember, amateurs built the Ark, professionals built the Titanic

Aargh! Say it's not so. I could only get granular Splenda (maybe other British supermarkets have the packets, I don't know). Do you know how much one packet would equate to in granules? When people post recipes here, they state packets, and i'd like to be able to convert to tsps of granular. So far, I've not used Splenda at all - but three months into this woe, I think I need to widen my food choices a bit.
