Default Busted 2-Month Stall?!

The reason for the question mark is the cautious optimism I feel. But this morning's weigh-in (I do it only on Fridays) was 203! This is after 8 weeks of my scale stubbornly telling me "206! 206!" I keep trying to imagine what I did that might have resulted in a false reading...which is how shocked and pleased I am. I almost don't believe it. That definitely made my day.

Thanks for all the encouragement!

Ken

Ken, good for you and way to hang in there!

Did you shake things up to break your "pause" as we like to call it around here?

Thanks guys! I honestly don't remember that I did much of anything other than concentrating on trying to relax more. I also started eating a lot more strawberries. I didn't really count them. I would just have a few for "dessert" after lunch and dinner, and whenever. I also stopped making my ice cream. Truth be told, I really didn't enjoy it that much (home-made texture with mostly heavy cream and Splenda). So I kinda broke a habit of having to have formal "dessert." Oddly I don't miss it much. Other than that, I have not changed anything about my diet.

ken-i'm delighted to hear it! and i wouldn't be suprised if it was the "ice cream". once you start getting along, it becomes an issue of learning how your body responds to different things.

regardless of the details, though, i'm delighted to hear it's moving again.

I am Chesnut! It was weird, I totally EXPECTED to see 206....again. And when it was 203, I was so happy. It is amazing what things give you the biggest thrills in life. Now I just hope I can keep this going! I REALLY do not want to get on the scale next week and find it back to 206 again.

It's really true how the little things give us the biggest thrills in life, I am so happy for you and for myself too because I have been losing again and love it.
I just can't believe that you didn't weigh today, I would have been on that scale first thing this morning, don't get me wrong I know why you're only weighing once a week but I wouldn't have been able to stop myself.
So here's to you Ken keep the faith and Goddess probably had a good point about the ice cream. It will be interesting to see what happens for you in the next few weeks.

Chesnut,

Hope things are still going well for you. My update is that there is no change. I did eat popcorn at Harry Potter (mandatory). But I have stayed at 203 for the last 3 weigh-ins, so for at least 2 weeks. I wonder if I'm going to have another stall just 3 pounds below the last one! Sheesh. So far my average is lees tha a pound a week. I've been doing this for 13 weeks.

Keepin' on keepin' on.

Ken

ken-the last 10-20 pounds are notorious for being sluggish to come off. the stability, though, is good. it speaks well to the notion of long-term success. being stable at your new size is a good thing, even if it's not quite yet the place you wanna stop.

you are doing well.

Agreed. The last few pounds are very slow and for some, this is where the calories start mattering.

I would guess that they also count for you considering that you stopped having your lc ice cream and just a few berries instead. This equates to a reduction in calories for each day of perhaps 200-400 depending on how much ice cream you ate. That very well could be the difference you're seeing.

Keep popping those berries and use the ice cream as a treat now and then and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Congrats on maintaining the 203!
