Question So why do I look thinner on LC than on Low Fat or Cal?

This might just me, but I am pre-tty sure that it isn't "just me."

I have been on "program" for 2 weeks today and I have lost 8 pounds. Which I am VERY happy with because I fell off this past weekend and me that keebler man had a nice run in with one another.
In any event, I picked myself up, brushed myself off and just got back on like nothing ever happen.
Why do I feel like I lost 15 pounds vs. 8 pounds?

I am much thinner at this weight than I was when I was trying weight watchers with a friend. I weighed the very same weight and couldn't get into the pants that I am wearing today?
How is that?

PQ, it's because you're losing fat, not muscle. Low fat, low calorie diets don't preserve your lean muscle mass the way low carb does, so even though you might weigh more, you've lost more fat, retaining muscle, which weighs more than fat.

Ain't low carb great?

I thought that I was nuts, until I seen some pictures of other people on line (B & F). It is great! You are right! Muscle takes up less space and is less dense. I knew that, but wasn't sure that was it.
As always...you are ever so informative!!

Another thing I've found is that with the natural diuretic proteries lc-ing has I don't carry that pesky water weight that I can even get with low cal. And I think that lack of puffiness helps a lot in giving the outward appearance of loss.
