Hi Everyone!
One year ago today, I started low carbing in ernest and joined this forum. This past year, some big changes have happened in my life. If you'll pardon a little self-indulgence, I'd like to share them with you:

1. I have lost, to date, 72 pounds. I have 50 left to go, and really believe I can make it. I have never felt so in control of my weight before, and it is a great feeling.
2. My health has inproved to an amazing degree. My acid reflux is GONE, my hair, skin, and nails are all healthy. My fibromyalgia is under control(I went from seriously considering prescription painkillers to the occasional Advil only if I overdo). I have about forgotten what insomnia feels like. Migraine headaches are rare instead of frequent, and usually only if I overindulge in certain foods. My mood swings are milder and less frequent. I just feel better.
3. My business(I owned a restaurant) closed recently, and that has left me more shaken and uncertain than I would have thought possible. I can't imagine how I would have coped with this pre-LC; but feeling more in control in one area of my life has given me the sense that I can deal with this, too.

I owe LC, Andrea, and all of you a great deal. I guess this is my way of saying "thank you".

Congrats!! It is so great that you are feeling much better. 73 pounds is fantastic! I am sure the other 50 you want to lose will be off by next year. I really admire you!
