I would suggest that if you want to have more carbs than usual, do the the CAD way. Eat Atkins-style for two meals. For one meal, allow yourself the carbs, but balance the carbs, the proteins and the LC veggies in visual thirds. And, don't have the carb meal last longer than 60 minutes.

If you do this plan, it will keep you from going carb-crazy, but allow you to enjoy the foods you want to as well.

If I have had too many carbs at my carb meal, I wake up hungry, so that is a clue. I end up with a bloat.

Over the summer, I was experimenting with a different WOE. I ate too much fruit and too many other carbs. I ended up on a weight roller coaster. (up 4-6 pounds, down 3-4 pounds, up 4-5 pounds, down 4-5 pounds, and on and on) This roller-coaster lasted at least 3 months. (I'm still not sure if I have recovered totally from this)

Good luck on your trip!

I started Atkins 2 months ago as a means to lose weight for a cruise with my best girls friends from high school. I had planned to cheat on the cruise. I have lost 22 pounds and I'm 10 pounds from my goal. I now consider this a way of life and not a diet. I'll probably have more carbs in the form of tropical drinks, but I plan to stay on low carb while on vacation. I've worked way too hard and feel too good to go back to my old habits. Also plan on continuing my exercise program while onboard. There are so many wonderful low carb choices I'm sure no one will even notice.

Beware - Alcohol makes you hungry, and you lose all sense of right & wrong.. (just see my last journal entry for proof).
