Or at least I want to.

I am sitting here on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, waiting for a 6-10 foot storm surge that would bring Harris Creek right to the level of our livingroom. Weather wise the effects of Isabel are not yet being felt but in my kitchen I am definitely feeling it. I thought I had a handle on my stress eating but it seems I have not. Is this some primal urge to pack it in because we may not have food available for awhile?

Rave,

i really think stress plays havoc on us, even when we think we have a handle on things... but these storms... man... My DH is all over the east coast this week and was watching this one. Luckily for him, he gets home tomorrow evening... Hopefully Isabel will weaken more than they are thinking.

Don't know what to tell you about the stress eating... I'm not very good at it either. I do my best to get out of the house or just to occupy my mind - but with what is approaching, how can you think of anything else.

Drink LOTS of water.. that does help me sometimes, or a soothing mug of tea or coffee.. and if you have to eat, make it proteins or a large salad. (I know - how boring)

I'll be thinking of all you on the East Coast - and if permitted - do keep us up to speed on how you are doing.

Rave,

{{{hugs}}}
I can slightly imagine what it feels like waiting for the storm to arrive(kinda like when we know a tornado is heading right at us), but at any rate, take care and stay safe, and if a couple of extra bites of something gives you a bit of comfort, then don't worry about it. When the danger has passed and you can focus on your eating plan, get back on track. I'm not saying go on an all out carb binge, but sometimes just an extra little nibble will get you through...ya know?

Good luck and stay safe!

Shelley

Rave, what a tough situation. Sitting, playing the "what if" waiting game. Many good wishes and thoughts to you and all of our forum family who will be effected by Isabel.

Yup..I kinda know how you feel...well..not really because we are in connecticut and will just get the "outside of the storm"...no where near what you will go through.....i will say a prayer for you....and go make some lc treats....

If I set a goal...then when I finally reach that goal..I am afraid that I will use it as a license to eat..therefore..I have no goal...only to stick to this wol FOREVER!!!
