For a while I've had this foggy feeling in my head. Let me try to discribe it. It isn't really a head ache though it does hurt a bit, my head kind of feels fuzzy to the point where I feel sorta spaced out.

Now I know that I'm not going through carbo detox. I'm tired of feeling this way.

I'm also tired all the time! I lack energy. When I get home from work I have to drag my butt out the door so poor Sadie (my dog) can get a walk). But when I get home I eat dinner then fall asleep on the couch!

Am I missing something in my diet here? I take my supliments and vitamins!

Something sure sounds wrong, if you are eating plenty of green veggies and drinking right amount of water you should be feeling better then ever! Maybe you should post some typical menus and let folks here see whats up!

Are you sure you're eating enough? If so, maybe try a green tea extract, which is supposed to be good for energy.. Arizona Iced Tea Co. makes a cold diet green tea sweetened with just a little bit of honey.. Tastes great, and contributes to energy levels.

Water to drink and maybe a cup of tea (if it isn't too hot)

I may have some nuts or even any meats I may have in the fridge.

Chicken or steak
spinach Salad with ranch dressing. (sorry been stuck on this spinach salad thing for about a month now!! SO is getting tired of my spinach salad)
legal veggies,

Desert,
Fresh berries with heavy cream, or low carb desert I may have prepared.

When I'm snacking I preaty much have left over meats, or veggies with dip or nuts

Anik,

what is your supplementation like?

and i know you have been LC for a long time... is this something new, or have you always been sluggish?

how about medical problems?

I was talking to an older lady yesterday (70+) who just found out she was anemic - and was dead tired all the time.

Have you been to the Doctor lately and had your blood pressure checked. The symptoms you describe sound like me when my blood pressure is too high.
Your menu looks good. Good luck, hope you feel better.

Theres,

I take a multivitamin, fish oils, vitamin "C" and calcium and Mag.

I've been feeling like this for about 3 or 4 months. I first thought it was because I had fallen off the waggon and it was my diet.

As for the medical problems. I don't have any, though I do have an apt. with my doc in a couple of weeks.

I have an MSG sensitivity that results in a range of reactions from fogginess to migraines. Many people with MSG sensitivities don't make the connection, because it is legal to include MSG under misleading ingredients categories such as 'spices,' 'flavorings,' and even 'natural flavorings.' Salad dressings and sauces are notoriously heavy in MSG. Perhaps you could avoid salad dressings, or make your own (with all fresh ingredients - the mix packets are loaded with MSG too.)

Many with MSG sensitivities also have aspartame sensitivities. I don't know what kind of artificial sweetener you're using, but if you want to experiment with this explanation, it'd be a good idea to avoid aspartame as well.

To really rid your diet of MSG, it takes some research, because it is so well hidden. This site is informative, if a bit zealous (deservingly so?): http://www.truthinlabeling.org/

Cutting down on MSG has radically helped me, and I just thought I'd toss this possible explanation into the thread. Hope you're feeling better soon.

xoxo

I think you would do well to get a check-up. These symptoms could result from many different causes besides nutrition (fibromylagia, perimenopausal hormones, thyroid, depression to name a just a few). It would probably be a good idea to get a new blood panel, too, if you haven't had one recently.

I agree with someone else, almost sounds like you are anemic. I had chemo about 1-1/2 years ago, and when I was done with chemo, my red counts were so low I needed transfusions. (of course in my case it was the chemo that brought the counts down.) If you are eating spinach and eating steak (hopefully not too well done) you should be getting lots of stuff to help your counts, however, it does take a lot to get your counts up once they are down. When you go to your dr. have him check your iron/hematacrit
levels and if you are under 10, you are definately anemic, Dr. might suggest an iron supplement (only in extreme cases should anyone take iron supplements). When I was anemic, I was tired all the time, I would get home from work, hubby cooks, and usually announces dinner is ready, but during this time, he would bring me dinner because he knew how tired I was....
I thought I knew what being tired was..... being anemic is a whole different ballgame of tired ness. I mean you have absoutely no energy to even move.....

It's ENTIRELY possible that you're just sick! I know that we tend to associate every symptom with our new WOE...but it's also likely that you have been trying to fight off a flu (like I have for the past 2 months).

Cheers,

Thanks for all your concerns. I'm going to get myself checked out. I'm just tired of being tired.

Thank goodness I was able to get a Doc's Apt next week.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Kina! Your diet is high in iron and you stated you take vitamins and supplements (without stating which ones). Those symptoms can also be a sign of TOO MUCH IRON. A check up and bloodwork are definitely in order. Good Luck!
