I weigh myself every morning too. (usually, sometimes I'm so busy I actually forget) I used to weigh myself at night, but that was too depressing because after drinking 1 and a half, to two gallons of water during the day I most certainly gain about 3-4 pounds, but that and then some is usually gone by morning (thanks to a million trips to the bathroom every night)

Does anybody else feel like they are barely sleeping since starting this woe? LOL. (It's worth it though).

I actually find myself sleeping *better* since starting.. No more insomnia, no more twitchy leg syndrome (or whatever it's called), fewer aches & pains in the morning, etc.

The only time I don't sleep well through the night is when I forget to cut my water supply off at 10:00pm. Last night, I had an additional 32 ounces after I should have stopped.

Shoe scales!! That would be perfect, maybe with an earphone attachment that would announce the weight in a breathy female voice......

Of course, it would automatically subtract the weight of shoes and other clothes one might be wearing.

Now, I'm thinking I need some calipers so I can measure body fat every day, maybe several times a day, perhaps the shoe-scale could do that also?

LOL@Brenda

John--bed scale? What's next scale shoes, so we know our weight every step of the way. Scale toilet, so that......hey, hey, hey, I'd better keep it nice here!

I admit to being obsessed with numbers. In a past life I was an accountant. In an even earlier past life I was a J.H.s. teacher though social studies not math. Without my 3 weight loss journals I would probably lose some motivation. and I'd definitelyt gain weeight.

I too confess to having OCD when it comes to the scale. I weigh myself every morning, and if it shows a loss I'll go back and check at least two more times to see if it's still true. Sad, but true.

I find the scales are the only thing I do obsess about. As Susan said, I remember that during periods of weight gain, I ignored the scale, so maybe I'm afraid of getting into that upward spiral again. I don't do fitday (I'd have to weigh and measure what I ate), and I don't rigorously count daily carbs, but I weigh twice a day! I keep telling myself it's stupid, and this week depressing, because we were invited to a unique dinner at a famous restaurant with a world class chef and I regret nothing about what I ate (it was a lifetime experience never to be repeated), but it took me three days to get back to where I was on the scale.

I found myself at a hotel gym midweek (the restaurant date meant we had to stay overnight), and stood on the scales they had. Even in my clothes I weighed about what my scales tell me first thing in the morning, wearing none! Isn't it just wonderful that scales tell different stories!! We don't have to trust or believe any of them!!

Horesemom, it gets better. I was having to get up every night for a 'comfort call', but further along this WOE, I find I often sleep right through. My water intake has, if anything, increased slightly.

For myself, it has taken just over 3 months to get into this way of eating. I often felt tired and constantly running to the bathroom was a pain. My energy levels have at last risen, and I feel great - but it didn't happen very quickly. I think that's why some people give up, they don't give it enough time...
