Hi all have been missing for awhile. I will start this off by saying maybe this is the wrong category to post this in, maybe i should have posted it in the cooking section. My favorite is lc Cheesecake, and also I make a pretty good ginger cake with whipped cream on top. Everyone has a different ethnic background, and different tastes. I thought it might be fun to get another perspective on the desserts. Judy

While I enjoy fixing desserts, I do not do it often. Unless we are having company, I usually don't fix one as it takes DW and me a long time to finish a cake or pie. For just the 2 of us, I will fix a mini-Baked Alaska. At Easter, I usually fix strawberry shortcake. Summer dessert is usually a strawberry cream pie. Thanksgiving its my Decadent Pecan Praline Pie. For Christmas, I like my Cranberry Velvet Dream Pie.

Who needs a holiday for dessert? I love George Stella's NY-style ricotta cheesecake. And Dr. Bernstein's Ricotta Torte. These are good any day of the week.

When we feel that we "deserve" a treat, these, or the ones Henry mentioned (I'm drooling here!) are wonderful. Of course, for special occasions, there are dozens of choices. But I'm one of those who, when I want a dessert, I want it NOW! LOL!

I love to make any kind of lc cookie to have when my grandkids come. I won't have sugary treats around for them, except for raisins. So far, no complaints.

Good idea not having sugary treats for the kids, they surely shouldn't have them. Judy
