My super market now carries "Arnolds Low Carb Bread", the first national brand of low carb bread I'm aware of. Four flavors- white, whole wheat, italian or multi grain. 6 grams effective carbs per slice. Not as low as the type I've been buying at the healthfood store, but so much cheaper. Tastes good too!

I think this may just be the start of national brands of low carb foods. Here's hoping.

I'll keep an eye out for that, although it seems we here on the West Coast are slow to get things like that!

I also got a kick out of a Miller Lite commercial on during football yesterday, which was billing itself "low carb" - which it IS pretty much - it's great that more and more companies are jumping on the bandwagon!

And one of our local more-famous restaurants is now advertising in the paper, "Have one of our famous steaks, it won't blow your low-carb diet! Low-carb substitutions gladly made."

We're getting more and more mainstream every day....

I use healthy life low carb breads with about the same count and same flavors. I get it at walmart and also at my very dinky hometown grocery store... its everywhere around here (and cheap)

I'll keep an eye out for that!
I found Natural Ovens Bakery Lo Carb bread at my grociery store, reasonably priced, 3g's per slice. I tried the Golden Crunch, and its pretty good toasted or for grilled cheese - not sure I'd care for it untoasted though.. very heavy texture.

I'm finding more and more in the grocery store and am hearing an awful lot of talk about LC diets .. this WOL is catchin' on and becoming easier and easier for us

Take care!

Erin

Wow! I shop at Shop Rite and have never seen it! I was just looking yesterday. Next time I'm there, I'll have to ask them about it if I still don't see it.

Char, I saw that commercial while DH and I was sitting at the bar in Red Lobster waiting for a table. I started slapping his shoulder to get his attention and kept saying look. As I said to him low carb is becoming as popular as low fat and the companies are catching on. They want the $$$. After watching the commercial I almost wanted to order a Miller Lite, but I was being very good and only drank my water .

Of course, this has nothing to do with the bread post. I stored my Nature's Own in the freezer for safe keeping (my safety).

6 grams per slice... that's 12 grams per sandwich. I'd be careful about that. But I am glad they're at least TRYING to cater to us.
