Ok, I really belive I have Candida. I was just rereading my DADR book and it really sound like that my problem. I was doing fine (on induction) til I add nuts. I had been eating cheese from the beginning but Im more than willing to give them up too. Heres my question: I read a post when someone said they had found a "Probiotic compound" like Dr. Atkins spoke of. If any one can remember that and repost it would help alot. Also, and I guess mostly, can I go see my doctor for this? What do I tell him? Do you think I will get much resistance on getting some treatment? Please any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks

If God is for me, who can be againist me?

You may want to check Sharron Long's website she has quite a long article about this very issue. I am sorry I don't have the link but I am sure she will be cruising by and hopefully see your question.
Good luck.

Hart......make sure any probiotics (bifidophilus) you buy have been kept in the fridge. These are live critters and need to be kept cold or they will die. BTW, doctors are very resistant to the idea of anyone having a yeast problem. They believe only cancer patients and people with HIV are the only ones who can develop a yeast problem. NOT true. So if your doctor is resistant, get a different doctor.

I had thrush several years ago (oral candidas). Awful! Also, it made me think I was HIV positive, which did NOT help! A "holistic" friend of mine went to the health food store and picked up a bottle of Yeast Defense by Nutrition Now, Inc. and it cleared it up quickly.

Not sure why it worked, or if it would work for you, but I learned that people at "real" health food centers, especially the owners often can "cure" simple problems.

Katrin, to make your own kefir you must get some grains, go to the caveman type diets pages, and you can find the link to Doms website which has all the info, then you find someone who is close to you that may send you some. I got mine from Maggie, they came in the mail, I put some milk in a clean jar dropped them in and let them stand at room temp for around 24 hrs, strain the grains out and put them in fresh milk ,and enjoy your kefir, Its great stuff you can make a cheese with it, I like it with a little splenda and vanilla or crushed berries.Good Luck!!
