I had my doctor’s apt yesterday.

Well first off I found out that I’ve had a sinus infection for the last past 3 months. This could be the reason for my head aches.

After questioning me about my job, and me bursting into tears because of the way I’ve been treated here she informed me that my headaches and foggyness could be caused by stress.

As for being tired all the time, that is an indication of stress and the fact that I wake up at 5:30 am each morning and go to bed at 11:00 pm. (She says I’m not getting enough sleep).

I’m now on antibiotics, nose spray and ointment for my sinus infection.

She is sending me for blood tests to ensure that everything is alright.

She has also asked that I return to see her in 2 weeks. (I will be working at my new job by then and she hopes that everything will be better then).

I’m relieved that I’m getting answers here and this isn’t all a figment of my imagination.

I’ll be even more relieved when I start feeling better.

Take care,

Anik

Anik, I'm so glad you are on the way to recovery now.

A sinus infection can really be physically draining (no pun intended!!), and stress not only makes everything worse, but creates its own set of problems. I hope you'll start feeling better very soon, and that the change of jobs coming up will mark a great new, healthy start for you.

hugs, brenda

Your message brings up an interesting point, as we do Atkins it's easy to point to the new way of eating as the cause of everything from low energy to headaches to hair loss... all of which can be 'side effects' of detoxifying your body. But if they go on too long, they can point to something else altogether so don't ignore the signals your body is sending!

Glad you're on the road to recovery, good luck with the new job! Oh, and great job on the weight loss, you must be feeling better about that if nothing else!

Well it does sound like you've had a plateful. I hope the meds help you feel better soon.

Please, do try to get more sleep.

Even minor sleep deprivation on a regular basis can have a lot of unfortunate effects - muscle aches and pains, depression, a tendency to be accident prone, errors in judgement - just tons of stuff. Chronic sleep deprivation is a very underestimated cause of medical and mental problems in our society.

I assume you have to get up early, but could you try to get to bed an hour earlier? A few weeks of better sleep might have a noticable impact on your quality of life.

A cup of warm milk at bedtime should help you feel sleepy, but it's fairly hi-carb. To make a lower carb version, I mix 1/3 cup of warm half-and-half with a 1/4 cup of water and a bit of vanilla Da Vinci syrup and a touch of cinnamon. Sometimes, I thicken it with a little Thick-n-Thin NotSugar.
