| Hi everyone, I have been really obsessed with my weight problem. I am a 33 year old female and have gained 90lbs which makes the count to 210. I recently took out some of my summer clothes and they don’t fit me anymore!!! This is a real tragedy for me. How can I not wear the ones I adore...moreover the new look is getting me mad (with the comments from my friends). I know quite a few ways to start losing weight…….but I don’t really feel that, with so many people failing using these methods that I will make it through. Does anyone know a proven way to reduce the weight? Please help me…..this is killing me!!! |

| Welcome, Savio. As you can see by our name, most folks here have found one low carbohydrate plan or another to be the best way for them to normalize their weight and improve their health. Generally, the first step on this journey is to investigate the various low carb programs, choose one and start by reading the book. It's important to get an understanding of how and "how to." I think you'll find a friendly and supportive group on this board.

| Hi Savio!! Many people have successful weight loss here because of the support. Keep working each day on your healthy eating plan that you choose (not giving up with the first bump in the road), staying away from the high carb junk food, keep coming here and you'll have nothing but success! Just like OA... keep coming back it works! |

| If you want to understand the science behind low carb, and why it works, I recommend you read the Protein Power books by Michael and Mary Dan Eades. They do a commendable job of making it understandable. You really need to understand why low carb works, and to understand the plan you choose. Don't jump into it expecting to lose 50 pounds in a month or two, either. You are trying to lose weight, sure, but you are also wanting to make this a way of eating so that you can keep the weight off. I wish you much success! |
