A couple weeks ago, I met an old friend I hadn't seen in 25 years. We used to work together, but she now lives in Mass.

Anyway, it was so nice seeing her again, when she and her husband came back to Michigan to see some old friends (me included). We went out to dinner, in our little town, and I confessed to them that I was on the Atkins diet, and it was the first time I had eaten out since being on it.

She smiled at me, and said, "Mark and I are on it too, and we eat out all the time!" (they each had lost about 30 lbs, but they were now on maintenance)....

I thought it a nice coincidence that I got to eat my first meal out with friends who were also doing Atkins (and neither of us knew it ahead of time)....we started with shrimp cocktail....a lovely salad....and ended with BBQ ribs. (which we scraped the sauce off) and enjoyed!

A lovely reunion, it was!

Isn't it amazing how many are low-carbing. Last week I ran into a lady at Sams who was low-carbing and then a gentlemen at Walmart...all in the same day! LOL It's nice to know others are out there just like you, huh?

I'm glad you had such a great reunion!

Ginni,

I think it is interesting that we sometimes "confess". Many of us do that early on. Me...I now (After getting my LC attitude adjusted. LOL) "inform", "proclaim", or otherwise tell folks (when appropriate) that I am a LC type of guy. Just a thought to consider.

BTW...ain't reunions fun when they go so well?!

HANG IN THERE!!!

Don

Yesterday, my DH and I went to Ruby Tuesdays. I ordered the salad bar and I wanted the double half-pound cheeseburger. (I think both patties were half pound, but not sure and didn't care.)

Anyway, the waiter said, "Wow." after I ordered the burger. Then I added, "No bun or fries with that, please. Thanks!"

Let me tell you, that was a darn good burger, too!

I just thought it was funny that the waiter couldn't control his surprise and I think his first reaction was to tell me that that is a very big sandwich. Sure it is - with all that bread! LOL!

Wow....how wonderful. Pretty soon, the whole world will be on a LC diet and we won't have to worry about confessing, proclaiming, or otherwise...lol.
