ok, I think I am going back to induction. This weekend, and I am talking the whole weekend, I had:
Pizza, a sub, waffles, cookies, Pretzels, Beer, and three ice cream bars. OMG, I am so mad at myself for this!
I have to start over...I have to regain control. I feel like I totally lost it!It was like I had no power over what I was eating. The whole time, I knew it was wrong, and I knew I should not eat it, but I did anyway. I am so discouraged right now........

Ok, Sbarstow, take a deep breath.
This happens, and it's not fatal. Try looking back on the weekend, and see if you can tell what triggered this binge. Was it a certain food? Maybe unusual stress? Understanding what the causes may be is half the battle. The other half is keeping your eyes open for the next time.
You may want to reinduct for a few days to detox, and drink extra water. But know that this is just a bump in the road, and consider it a learning experience. You'll be ok.

Trina is right on the mark. Understand the binge for what it is worth. Learn from it. Do NOT give binges so much power over how you feel about your efforts. People on low fat diets have "binges" too. The trick is to keep it in perspective and not associate it with some form of personal flaw, just look at it as a simple learning lesson.

What do I think you learned?
1. You made a tactical error.
2. You didn't fall apart.
3. You know what you did, didn't help you meet your goals.
4. Perhaps you (re)learned the power of carb-addiction.
5. You found that we support you, not your mistakes and will be here for you.

LIFE IS STILL GOOD! You have the choice to move on with this experience and grow. Not a bad thing in the big picture.

HANG IN THERE!!!

Don

Hi Trina! I have this really strange and odd feeling that this is something that we all end up doing at one point in time.. "it's convient comfort food" that's what I call it. We don't have to do anything but open the package and eat. I finally had one of my favorite cookies a couple of weeks ago...I was really bummed because it tasted like I was chewing sugar. *sigh* I "let" myself have ice cream the other day before I went grocery shopping...that wasn't as good as I remembered it either...*sigh* Oh well, I am learning Just jump right back on and well...learn
You'll be okay

Have no fear, we are here, to support 1lb at a time...

I did the same thing this weekend, but I know today is a new day and am also reinducting for a few days. I had some ice cream, a donut, a big mac and fries. It was all disgusting, so why did I eat it? Isn't it funny how our use-to-be favorite foods don't even taste good anymore? I think this is a good thing!

Just hold your head high and know that we are here to support and encourage each other. God knows I need it!

I couldn't control myself this weekend either. I started on saturday with some sugar free klondike bars...well they say sugar free, but have 6 g of sugar in them. i had 5 of them. The yesterday I bought some of that new breyers low carb ice cream, and had half the carton. Today, I am really cutting back on what I eat, and I refused to step on the scale so as to not bum myself out more. I was pretty depressed and mad at myself yesterday after my binge. UGH. Today is a fresh start. Good luck!

This weekend was bad. Maybe it was the weather change cause so many of us fell. I too fell and everything I ate tasted good to me. Too good. I had pizza and cereal(cap'n crunch) and little debbie cakes and I can't remember what else but it was bad.

Just curious, for those of you who binged. How many of you woke up the next morning feeling like you got run over by a truck?

I know that whenever I have binged like I am reading here (and it has happened to me as well) I am sick (hangover like) the next day. I try to remember that feeling whenever I am tempted. Just one more thing that helps keep me in line...

I will remember all this next time I feel like cheating. Can someone slap me next time I even think about doing it???
