... when you know better.

Does anyone else continuously do this to themselves like I do?

I LOVE this WOE and it will be for life for me.

I am down to losing those last few pounds & I STILL do this! If I make something gooey chocolatey for the kids and my husband I can usually say no thank you and have something legal. Then on other occasions stupid walks IN and common sense & lessons learned WALK OUT. In the end (like this morning) I am left with a tummy ache and SWEAR I will never put my body through that again. I had some VERY illegal chocolate cream dessert last night and then (beating my head against a brick wall!!ARGH~!) this morning for breakfast. Darn it!!! I KNOW BETTER!!! I am SO angry with myself over this.

So I went jogging this morning after my oh so nutritious breakfast and felt very yucky.

I am sitting here with my runners still on, thiking I need to jog three times today to make up for what I did!

I think I need somehow to be held acountable (like through someone here - any volunteers?..lol) for keeping clean and cheat free. I LOVE this WOL. I just need -I don't now what I need... lol Though I know I am too close to my goal to throw it all away for chocolate!

Thank you for your continued support. You guys are incredible!

It unnerves me bc losing this weight has been a dream come true. I have NEVER felt so healthy. I love walking into a room or down the street and having someone do a double take. Or when someone says "Wow! You are half of you!".. I love being the healhiest I can be for my boys and my husband. There is NOTHING about this WOL not to love.

I feel like I am setting mysel up for failure. HELP!!!

That made me laugh. Crys, why are you so hard on yourself? These things happen. Congrats on your weight loss. Isn't that a good feeling when ppl notice how much weight you've lost? Can't get enough of those compliments. So get back on the wagon and keep doing what you're doing girl. Hang in there

Crys--do you like any of the SF chocolates? Maybe if you had a bag of those on hand when your family was having a treat it wouldnt be so bad--Many people like the Russel Stover sugar frees and since you are so close to goal, having a sf chocolate now and again wouldn't be as BIG a sabotage as dumping a ton of real sugar into your system--just a thought--

...accountability begins in the bathroom, and ends with you swearing you'll never eat more than 1 piece again.

RS Mint Patties were my downfall a few months ago. They taste TOO much like York.

Crys-
I totally understand! I started craving sweets yesterday. And I asked myself, why??? Why do I want to eat them after I have had such success so far? I didn't have an answer and so I went and got my sweets. Then I totally binged on them. I got Klondike Sugar Free Bars. Altho they still have 6 g of sugars. I had like 5 of them! HORRID! I know. I have no excuse, and what is worse, I did it willingly. I also have some low carb ice cream, which has 4 g of net carbs. I had like a half carton of that today. It was the first time I have caved on this way of eating. I have been extremely good for 5 weeks, with no cheating. I know I have a ways to go. Tommorow is a new day, right?? I hope my story makes you feel better.
Good luck!

Oh, I know only TOO well what you're going through. The cravings, the "giving in", and then the severe guilt. I hate it too!!!! Just try to learn from it. Don't swear you'll never do it again. We know that doesn't help. Next time you are tempted, think, really think, about why you want it. Then think about the consequences. Try (I know that's hard) to put it out of your mind-even for a moment) and do something else. Before you know it, lots of time has passed, and you are no longer tempted. Good Luck!

Thank you all for your comments and support.

This morning, after my weekend of sweets and stupidity (lol) my bare toes stepped on the scale while I inwardly cringed, wondering what the magic number would be.....

The amazing thing (shocking) is that I LOST 3 pounds.

I feel like a car wreck victim not hurt - just shocked at no damage... lol and a three pound loss??

Surely I am not complaining though!

Not to put a damper on your day, but check again in about 2 days - If the scale hasn't changed, *then* you miraculously got away with it.

Very seledom can we sneak anything by the Scale Monster.

I know how you feel, I have 4 kids. I've been soooo tempted when I would bake them a cake. This weekend I made them a cake with chocolate frosting. It sure looked yummy. I asked my DH if he wanted dessert as well and he said yes. He asked me if I was really going to eat a piece of that cake and I said no way. I whipped up a batch of LC chocolate mousse for the two of us and we had that while the kids had their cake. It only took a minute to fix and really took care of that crav for sweets. Also, I finally got some almond flour. The next cake in this house will be something we can all eat!

Looks like you dodged the bullet! It usually takes me a week at least to lose the water weight that comes when I eat a serving of a high carb food.

I know those last few pounds are really challenging! It took me quite a few months to get over the last 10 pounds hurdle.

Would it help to have some legal treat stuff around for "emergency" substitutions? Do you keep Da Vinci syrups around or Splenda? Some syrup and whipped cream or mixed with a bit of cream cheese has helped keep me from caving on occasion.

I try to keep a stock of LC mini-cheese cakes in the freezer or refrigerator. As they are made in muffin tins, there is a degree of built in portion control. I like to garnish it with some sour cream sweetned with Da Vinci syrup or with some Steel's low-carb fruit preserves.

I also try to keep a bar of extra dark chocolate (80% cocoa or higher) in the house. 5 to 10 grams of that rich, deep chocolate usually handles my chocolate thing. It's not really sweet, so for me it doesn't kick in cravings like milk chocolate or even some bittersweet chocolate. On the other hand, any kind of LC chocolate candy or even meal bars does kick in cravings for me.

Those are some good suggestions. I think I will look into that extra dark chocolate.
