The walmart by me sells Nature's Own bread with an ecc of 5. I haven't found natural ovens or healthy life breads there though. They don't even carry the Chef's choice bowls though they have higher carb chef choice entrees.

Dr I - never throw anything away without exploring all possiblities. I'll bet if you dried the bread and turned it into bread crumbs and mixed with some almond flour and spices you'd have a pretty decent breading for meat. Just a thought.

But I like my meat unbreaded! Mmmmmmmm...

Actually, the only "low carb" specialty product that I actually have had a good experience with is the Atkins Steak Sauce. That stuff is good!

I haven't tried the Z-carb bars yet, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of a doubt until I get the opportunity.

Thanks everyone on all the insights of the low carb breads. At least I know what I am looking for and where and what to stay clear of.

Susan,

i have heard about the buns, but have not found them yet - only the bread. (I dont have a super wal mart here)

as for Todd's - they are really good.

I had one of the O-So-Lo Sweet buns yesterday for breakfast (egg sandwich) and YOW was it sweet. the regular ones are better for a sandwich IMHO. next time i will have the sweet one taosted, buttered, and eat the eggs on the side.

Hi,
We have a SugarFree Express here and they sell low carb bread that is loaded with fiber, so after subtracting the fiber it comes to zero carbs. Don't know how honest this is , but it tastes great and comes in 4 variaties. They also have bagels that are 0 net carbs too and taste great!

I agree with Doc, Trader Joe's bread the yucky. Our Acme (Northeast area) is now selling Arnold Low Carb Bread (6 grams per slice) and it is tasty. I just read the baking instead of toasting tip. It makes it crisper. For lunch today I had a caesar salad and made the croutons with the Arnold Bread...one slice was very generous for both my husband and myself. My DH didn't even eat all his croutons...men!
