You know what I'd really like to have? A website where I could type in a recipe and punch a button that said "calculate", and up would come the statistics for that dish. You know, total carbs, cals, protien, fats, the works. Then I could transfer the necessary information to Fitday's custom food list without having to struggle. Does anyone know if such a time-saver exists?

Anyone who tells me there is such a place and gives me the address gets his reward in heaven!

I know this wouldn't help you much.. .but i use a program that is similiar to FitDay... but it one you install, not internet based.

I can type in all the ingredients, and click a button, and it will save it as a recipe with all the nutritional values.

BUT, if the foods are not in the database, you have to add them - but YEAH.. it would be nice to have a web site like that.

OH the program i use is called Life Form.

After reading Don's good opinion for Diet Power, I downloaded a trial version. He's right - it is a very nice, convenient program.

I love the recipe calculator in Diet Power - it makes life so much easier!

Here is a review I wrote explaining more about how Diet Power works.:

I took a look at at Life Form and it looks like a good program, too. But, since I was already up and running with Diet Power, I never tried it out.

I use Mastercook software to keep track of recipes. It does exactly what you were asking for - you input the recipe and it calculates all the nutritional information. It's also great as a way to input recipes you find on the internet and keep track of them. You can even create cookbooks based on type of recipe.
