Okay yall, Im pretty discouraged at this point so Im hopeful that you can help. IM 5'2", 120lbs trying to get to 110 or 115. I started ATkins induction on Aug 7th, and so far I have lost 1 big fat whopping pound. Ive been going to the gym 2-3 times a week and walking a few days as well for at least the last 4 weeks. I drink a minimum of 64oz of water. I have had a few minor cheats (extra berries, a few whole wheat crackers etc) in the past few weeks, but other than that Ive been eating according to the book. I know folks say that the closer to get to your goal the slower it goes, but surely they do not mean this slow. Here is a sample of what Im eating....
bfast- 2eggs, w/ham or canadian bacon or a mock danish, coffee w/half and half
lunch- salad with bcheese, or salad with eggsalad, chicken salad
dinner-whatever meat Ive made for my family and a salad, and a veggie (broccoli or cauliflower)
snacks include some nuts or olives.
Ive pretty much cut out all cheese hoping that would help. Ive also switched to half and half, and the neufanchel (sp?) cream cheese in the hopes that I could conserve some calories there. I also have cut out nuts for the most part, I may have them once a week now. Any suggestions would be helpful.
THanks,
Leasa

I guess my question would be, do you really have 10 lbs of body fat to lose? Atkins is great for removing body fat.
Your workouts can also add muscle mass. Since muscle weighs about 3 times the equivalent volume of fat, you can lose inches, but not weight. Did you check your measurements before starting? If so, you'll probably be noticing a reduction in inches overall.
Don't get hung up on the weight, people notice the inches you lose, not the weight.

Leasa, it sounds like you are doing the right things. Have you checked your measurements? Some people lose inches more that pounds - especially when exercising. And, that's good! It means getting smaller, which is the point after all.
I had to be content with losing slowly - maybe 2 lbs a month average. I know a lot of people lose weight faster, but I'm one of those with a slower metabolism. Still, I was ~very~ happy to be losing at all rather than continuing to gain weight.
Anyway, start tracking your measurements. Hopefully, you'll see some progress there.

In response to do I really have it to lose...all I can say is prior to having my daughter (a year and a half ago), and even right after while bf her, I had no problem getting back to 115. Since Im short the 115 has been a good weight for me really ever since I turned 30, 5 yrs ago. Once I stopped bf her I began gaining a pound here and there. I promise I would be content with the inches if I could see that happening, but as of right now my clothing fits no differently than it did 8 weeks ago. The only thing I can tell you is I dont think I look as flabby, and even my husband has noted that I look more toned. I just see so many folks on this board under 120, so I know it can be done I just dont know how. Do yall think a fat fast or the egg fast that was mentioned being of any help to me? I really do enjoy the wol, and it just makes so much sense to me, but it is getting harder and harder to pass up the bad stuff when I feel like Im making no progress.
