| My cholesterol history: 1. 8 months PRIOR to starting Atkins: Total cholesterol: 250; HDL 71; LDL 153; Triglycerides 126. 2. 2 months AFTER starting Atkins: Total cholesterol: 301; HDL 63; LDL 216; Triglycerides 108. [Got very worried. In consultation with my Dr, decided to minimize tran fat intake, so I was doing a modified SouthBeach Diet, ate a lot of flaxseed cereal, used Benecol etc.] 3. Just 2 months later had another Lipid profile done: Total cholesterol: 210; HDL 80, LDL 117; Triglycerides 64. Phew. PS, I really don't miss the bacon. Started Atkins: 5/29/03 142/117.5/115 |
