Stall Stall Stall

"Ongoing Weight Loss" at Low Carb Diet Support: "My mom, dad and I have been doing the Atkins for approx. 4 weeks and we've all lost, however, I seemed to have stalled for the past 2 weeks. I trying not to get discouraged ...."

My mom, dad and I have been doing the Atkins for approx. 4 weeks and we've all lost, however, I seemed to have stalled for the past 2 weeks. I trying not to get discouraged b/c I know this way of eating works. My sister started in January and by May, she'd lost 67 lbs and she looks great. I just want to know if there's something we are doing wrong. I keep telling my mom that it could be that she's preparing two green vegetables with our meals. However, somewhere on this website I read that the green vegetables were okay, even if you eat more than you should. We have had no bread, pasta, etc.

Help!

Green veggies are not going to hurt you.. (So long as they're not peas).

The "stall" you're in is typical, and usually short-lived - your body is just trying to catch up with itself.

How many carbs are you consuming in a day? At 4 weeks, you should be around 30 carbs a day. If you're still eating at induction level, it's time to up them.

Post a typical 2 days worth of meals...

Thanks so much for the info. I will keep that in mind and not get discouraged.

2 days of eating:

eggs & bacon (normally what i have for breakfast)

Lunch: chicken salad; ham & cheese salad

Dinner: Pork chops; small salad and cabbage
Steaks; small salad and Okra

You're missing an awful lot of veggies..

Have bigger salads with your meals, and have another legal veggie with them as well.. Lettuce, onions, green pepper, small bits of tomato, cucumbers all make for great salads.. Then have some broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, green beans, etc.

Right now, your carbs should be at around 30 per day.. I'm not seeing more than 10-12, and even that's really pushing it. Up the carbs by at least another 10 per day. From there, increase 5 per day once a week.
