Just saw on the Le Carb web site that they have a new dairy drink. They say they have been able to remove most of the lactose from regular milk, and replace it with Splenda. This gives them about 4-5 carbs per service (1 cup I suspect). A bit more for the chocolate variety...

Has anyone seen or tried this?

Yes, I've tried the LeCarb dairy drink, the 2% version, because I really missed milk before bed. It's kind of expensive -- I just paid $2.99 for a half gallon yesterday, but at my store, they give $.75 off on gasoline if you buy it.

I was used to drinking 1% milk before, so this is a different taste. Just remember that it is a dairy drink -- don't expect it to taste exactly like milk. I've been buying it for a month or more, since I first saw it in the store. I'm well satisfied with it.

You could make your own lactose-free milk by combining cream with water and whey protein isolate.

Cream is the milk fat.
Whey protein isolate is the milk protein.
Water is just water!

I've never tried it, but it sounds simple enough, eh?
