I finally broke down and figured out Fitday.com. I am sure glad I did because as of 1:00pm, it says I have only had 5 carbs today. Hmmm, do you thing that is why I am so tired??? Duh, I didn't know I wasn't eating enough. But, I ate 2 cups of salad for lunch with ham on top and 2 eggs and 2 sausages for breakfast. Where do I get some more carbs? I have a limited imagination. Help!!

BY your signature, I guess that you're beyond induction. You should be getting at least 30 carbs/day--and that's beyond the basic two cups of salad and veggies at the induction level.

Lucky you! Good eating ahead. Here are a few suggestions:
--add legal fruit. I like frozen mixed berries. Fresh strawberries. Cantaloupe or other melon. Be sure to measure the quantities and not overdo it. Check the carb counts.
--Add some nuts. Macadamia nuts. Walnuts or pecans. You can put these in your salad if you like.
--Peanuts, or peanut butter. Again, measure the quantities. Use natural peanut butter without added sugar or transfats. Put it on celery for a good veggie carb combo.
--More veggies! Lots more veggies.
--If you can handle the dairy sugar, add some cottage cheese.
--Did I mention more veggies? Add variety to your salads with cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms,
red onion, etc.

Enjoy!

Barb already gave you some great suggestions.

I would like to “ditto” her comments on the veggies.

I see you had eggs and sausage for breakfast, right? Try having only 1 egg and 1 sausage and add some steam veggies with butter. Or skip the sausage and have a 2-3 egg omlette with mushrooms, onions, bell pepper, etc.

Start thinking in terms of veggies at every meal and snack – not just a salad at lunch and a cup of veggies at dinner. Get those veggies in there all the time.

Add more veggies, especially salads. It's the best source of carbs.

Nothing wrong with the tortillas if you can stop at one! LOL

I like them too but have to be careful. If I have 2-3 in a day, they can trigger cravings for me. I really have to limit my intake or I start wanting to eat everything.

I generally consider the lc tortillas a “third level” addition. Veggies are the first thing to increase in order to get more carbs, then a few nuts and then low carb breads/tortillas.

I don’t think it’s good to end induction and then immediately start up with the low carb bakery products. It’s better to get really good at eating lots of veggies and then begin to phase into a little more variety in the whole grains dept.

Jinni, as long as they aren’t bothering your loss, then more power to ya!
