| I have been low carbing it for 5 weeks and have lost 12 pounds. I have 10 pounds to go until I reach my goal. I've been following a very prescribed diet similar to Atkins that my naturalpath has put me on to ease my IBS symptoms. I've followed it 95% of the time but I just managed to blow it big time on a big bowl of buttered popcorn. I felt that old out of control feeling that I used to get. Anyone out there relate? Any ideas of how to get back on track? I'm so thankful for the site. - KR |

| I think most of out here will admit to doing this at least once...and if you don't admit it, you are lying! LOL My advice is to jump right back in. We all mess up. Just take it as a lesson learned and move forward. If popcorn is a food that really calls you, you may not want to have it around. THere are certain foods that I cannot keep in the house for the kids because I know I will run to them when they call my name. Just hold your head up high and know that you are not alone. We are all here to support and help one another as much as we can! Also know that you could have made a worse choice than popcorn. The stuff I have isn't as high-carb as one might think and it contains no sugars...according to my box. 193(march 2003, lost 10 with exercise and cutting back) Started LCing on Aug. 25,2003 183/175/150 |

| I eat popcorn about once a week and have still continued to lose. It is my treat for staying on my goal of heathing eating and low carbing. I cook it the old fashioned way on the stovetop usually with a bit of olive oil. Kelly Heathly Mom to a 1 year old |

| Popcorn is one of those very aromatic foods, and that makes it hard to resist!! I found this out early on too!! But with 3 growing boys, it is a snack hard to ignore...esp as it is certainly one of the more healthy snack foods that they enjoy (I air pop it...no trans fats...with real butter on top!) I do not have it every time they do, but when I want it, I have a method...I take the small dish I melt the butter in which holds 2 cups and fill it for me, and hand the rest over to the boys and dh to polish off. That way I don't have to worry about eating more than my 10 carb allotment...and I get a little extra butter on mine from my dish!! Thankfully I can stop at that point, but if it is a trigger food for you that you can't stop at a cup or 2, you may need to avoid it completely until maint. phase. Now if we were talking a bakery cake or a pan of brownies, I could not stop until they were all gone!! I'm learning!! I keep the sweets out of the house except for rare occasions! | Hello Kay! I hope you drank lots of water with the popcorn. I would increase my water for the next couple of days also. I cannot be around popcorn. There is no way I could stop at a little bit. To me one serving was always the whole package, or a huge bowl. You have done great with losing 12 pounds. I don't think you did any lasting damage Good Luck!
